Commercial Cymbidium cultivation, in addition to cut flowers planted in tropical areas, the general ornamental Cymbidium is planted in pots. Potted magnolia can move freely, and can be moved indoors or in greenhouse in winter, so it is not subject to environmental and regional constraints and restrictions. According to the different manufacturing materials, the pots used for planting orchids can be divided into the following four types:

(l) tile pots (plain burning pots)-- the most commonly used pots for growing orchids. Tile basin has the advantages of air permeability, good drainage and low price. But fragile and overweight are its shortcomings. When planting orchids with anti-pots, the new pots should be soaked with water first, and the old pots must be cleaned before they can be used. There are many large holes in the tile basin wall of Cymbidium, which is different from the common earthen pot for planting flowers.

(2) plastic pots-nowadays, it has become a reality to replace anti-pots with plastic orchid pots, which has something to do with the fact that plastic pots are light, beautiful and not easy to break. General seed orchid plastic flowerpots have different specifications and shapes, and there are many rows of holes in the wall, which is conducive to air permeability and water permeability, and overcomes the disadvantage of poor air permeability of plastic pots. For larger orchids, such as tiger orchids, plastic gondolas can be planted.

(3) wooden frame-made of wood strips, mostly square in shape, specially used for planting large uniaxial gas orchids, such as ten thousand belt orchid fingernail orchid. Most of the orchids planted with wooden frames are hung, and the wooden frames with cut orchids are suspended in the greenhouse, which can save space and carry out three-dimensional orchid planting. Due to the wide gap between wooden frames, it is especially suitable for strange-lipped orchids that penetrate downward and open after flowering.

(4) Pteridophyte (fern basin)-due to the habit of epiphytic Lanxian, it can grow with porous fern plates without soil and pots. The suitable fern plate should be cut from the sapwood of the tree stem, and there are many black root strips on the surface; when planting, you can first cover with water moss, and then nail the orchid plant to the board. In addition, a section of the center of the tree fern can be hollowed out to make a tree fern basin, which is especially suitable for planting Magnolia.

In addition to the above four types of pots, there are rarely used coconut capsids and wooden pots to plant orchids. In particular, coconuts are readily available in Thailand; Thais use them to grow cut orchids, such as Qiushi Gao Dou and Oncidium.
