The period of basin change (transplant or ramet) of Guolan is about twice a year. One is from late March to April, and the other is October, when the growth ends. But Chunlan, which already has buds, should not be transplanted in autumn as far as possible. Because the growing buds often fall as a result of transplantation, on the contrary, in March to April, when they are about to begin to grow, it is rare to see damage caused by transplantation. As for large orchids that need ramets, they should work immediately after blooming.

National orchids do not need to be transplanted every year to change pots. From the beginning of planting, they will not grow vigorously until the second or third year. At the same time, the number of buds that can be ramified increases greatly. If at this time in order to exchange or buy and sell as soon as possible for the purpose of ramet, this is naturally understandable. However, if it is purely amateur fun planting, in order to appreciate its wonderful appearance, it is better to cultivate large plants as much as possible.

Therefore, under careful planting and care, in the third or fourth year, I felt that the pot was too small to be used, and the split was carried out at this time.

The roots of orchids are in great need of air, and their thick and long roots have well-developed water storage organizations. once water is absorbed, even under the dry condition of temporary lack of water, they will not wither because of lack of water, so the first condition for selecting cultivation media is materials with good drainage and ventilation.

In general, the soil that meets the above conditions can be used to cultivate national orchids. Such as soil, forest, sand or Yangmingshan saprophytic soil. However, at present, Taiwan's orchid people often use snake sawdust, water moss, vermiculite, foamed stone, red brick, bark, charcoal and other materials. In fact, strictly speaking, due to the different cultivation environment and species, the materials required are also different. But generally, as long as the material with good ventilation and good drainage capacity can be used.

When transplanting, to remove the original plant from the basin, you should first remove the old plants, then wash the dirt on the roots and leaves with water, and remove the attached water moss or rotten roots completely.

In the ramet, try to avoid dividing too small, it is best to use three buds as a unit; if divided into too small growth will stop, so that the daily recovery of the tree is slow.

In the whole process of cleaning, avoid touching the new buds and try to hold the old stem.

Generally use the orchid basin with small and deep caliber, which is more conducive to the development of the national orchid.

In order to prevent pests from invading the basin floor and to prevent the loss of cultivation media, the bamboo can be cut into pieces and arranged on the basin floor and covered with blue brick or charcoal until the bamboo is completely covered.

Hold the old bulb of the plant to be planted in your left hand, put it in a basin, and determine the position and height before and after planting. At the same time, there should be a little space for the growth direction of new buds, and it is better to have a wider room for new buds to grow, so that the flowers in full bloom can be enjoyed in the following year.

After determining the position, use tweezers or chopsticks to evenly arrange the root on all sides, but try not to touch the white part at the front of the root.

After the position is determined, hold the plant tightly with the left hand to fix it; put the soybean-sized granular soil or other plant materials gently between the root and the root; when the granular soil is put into the granular soil, the root will move, so when it is put into the basin bottom to about 1/3 degree, the position of the root should be adjusted again.

And then continue to put in the granular soil of soybeans. Until the root is completely covered, make sure that the plant is straight and tap the bottom of the pot on the work to make the soil particles or planting village completely tight. There is usually a gap between the root and the root, so use bamboo chopsticks to carefully fill the space with soil particles or plant materials. Finally, cover the bulbs with red bean-sized particles, and pile them slightly higher in the middle of the basin. If soil cultivation is used, the fine powder must be removed with a sieve before it is put in.

For plants that have been planted, put the Meng bowl into a bucket so that the water can be deep as well as the upper edge of the basin, but pay attention to avoid the loss of soil particles or plant materials. Put the potted plant in water for about five minutes, let the soil particles or planting village absorb the water completely, and then take out the pot, the dirty water will drip from the bottom.

The sewage is caused by dust attached to soil particles or other plant materials, which clings to the roots near the roots, which greatly hinders the ventilation of the roots of orchids, so they should be filtered and changed repeatedly until there is no more sewage in the bucket.

After changing the basin for a week, put it on the shelf where the sun will not shine directly and the strong wind cannot blow, so that it can slowly adapt to the growing environment. (you Chongkui)
