Organic edamame: when is the climate and time for edamame planting?
Edamame bean is an excellent and healthy food, which is rich in protein and vitamins. It can also be used as a snack food in addition to stir-frying vegetables. The province has an annual output of more than 60,000 metric tons, most of which (80%) are exported. Trial cultivation was conducted in Ilan in 1980-82, and it was found that this area is also suitable for planting. Soya bean has a short growth period and is suitable for organic cultivation; pure organic fertilizers combined with non-pesticides or different biological control techniques are used to reduce the application amount of chemical fertilizers and pesticides, reduce their pollution to the environment, and explore the most economical and effective production and cultivation methods.
This trial was conducted in two places in Zhuangwei Township in early April and early May 87. The area of each trial was 0.1ha. The tested varieties were Dou Kaohsiung Xuan No. 1 and Kaohsiung No. 5 respectively. 3 metric tons of organic fertilizer per hectare were applied before sowing in the experimental area, and the row spacing was 45X15 cm.
The results showed that the yield per hectare was 4 , 910-5800 kg, the output value was 171850-203000 yuan, and the income was 69600-100750 yuan.
By variety, the output of Kaohsiung No. 5 is 18.1% higher than that of Kaohsiung Xuan No. 1, so its output value is also higher.
Comparison of sowing time: there is not much difference between April and May. Edamame is suitable for organic cultivation, but because the price and quality are difficult to compete with the central and southern regions, a small number of diversified models should be adopted for promotion in Ilan area.
