Orchids are very many family members, there are more than 20,000 known species, except Antarctica distributed all over the world, they have strange flowers, such as Phalaenopsis, most flower friends know, have beautiful colors.

Have you seen those strange orchid varieties in the flower market? Let's communicate with each other. (tropical maritime climate is the most suitable for growing orchids, of course, according to different varieties.)

Many orchids are cultured in tissue, and a very small plant tissue can reproduce an orchid, which is, of course, placed in a glass petri dish in a laboratory environment. You can see hundreds of small orchids in the plastic bottles above.

If the plant grows up a little bit, it can be transplanted to a small foam basket, which is planted on a large scale. These are very good drainage media, not soil.

The young orchid above grows on a water-absorbing sponge and needs water for its growth and plenty of air for its roots to grow, so it can cultivate seedlings.

In addition to the environment, the medium is the most important for orchids. As they grow up, they should be provided with a moist, well-drained growth environment, and the roots must not accumulate water, but keep them moist.

Most orchids growing in the wild do not need soil, and many of them are epiphytes. Their roots grow on tree trunks or branches, and their roots are not soaked in water, but are exposed to the air. The roots of these orchids are watered with "pseudo-bulbs". All store water, there is little need for watering, but to maintain the humidity of the environment.

Here are five common exotic orchids I saw in the flower market.

1. Pansy orchid

Pansy orchid is a very common exotic flower, its petals have bright red and white intervals, looks like owls, and the center of the stamens is yellow, like the mouth of an owl.

Pansy orchids need a lot of water, but need a very good drainage medium, like high humidity and cooler environment, mild climate, it is better to induce it to blossom, it needs less light than most other orchids.

2. Magnolia

Aristolochia looks very strange. Some people think it looks like slippers and call it "slipper orchid". I feel more like pitcher plants with hair. Although they look strange, they are so expensive that they can't afford it!

When the orchid blossoms, it has a very prominent bag, which looks like a cage for catching insects, but it is actually decorated.

Slipper orchids are not difficult to maintain in southeastern China. They like high humidity, do not like frequent watering, and do not need too much light. They can be placed under the fluorescent lights of the east window.

3. Oncidium

Oncidium is also called "dancing girl orchid". The flowers are like dancing girls, and dozens of flowers grow on the spikes when they bloom, which is still very amazing.

There is also a kind of mini Oncidium, the plant is small, the flowers are even too small!

Oncidium prefers plenty of light.

4 、 Cartland

Cartland is a bit like irises when she is in full bloom. They are very popular cut flowers and corsage. They come in many colors, the common ones are pink and purple.

Miniature Cartland is becoming more and more popular. they often grow on the windowsill and like plenty of light.

5. Wan Dailan

Wandailan is native to the Philippines, has medium or large varieties, has spikes, and likes to grow in a warm environment. It likes bright light, plenty of sunshine, high humidity and warm environment. It needs to be watered frequently, especially when it is growing.
