Insect Pest Control of Cymbidium
The insect pest of Cymbidium is more serious than other Orchidaceae plants, because its florescence is concentrated in summer and autumn, high temperature and dry, fragrant flowers, often attract many insects to gnaw its petals and juices, of which thrips are the most serious, which occur throughout the year. Its larva is pink, the adult is black, about 2mm, such as Sao Sao. The damage site is mainly flowers, resulting in brown spots on the petals, and when the bud is serious, the bud does not open and die. Thrips like to hide in the debate base and the new bud leaf sheath, and when there is no flower, they hide in the gap between the bulbs to harm the buds, and the marks of the new buds are found at the opening of the new buds, which are white spots at the initial stage, like the symptoms of toxin disease, brown after growing up, and even cause leaves to wrinkle and twist. These wounds often cause other germs and toxins to invade.
The second is shell insects and aphids, which can be harmful at the base of leaves, leaves and pedicels, and symbiosis with ants, specially sucking plant sap, causing yellow spots on leaves, early withering and falling, and will occur almost all year long. The second is the golden flower insect, specially for breeding flower bud, its body color is golden yellow, its body length is 12~18um, when the orchid garden flower bud is eaten up, the insect is no longer found.
The above-mentioned pest control methods are the same, when serious occurrence, in addition to the removal of flowers, once a week, twice in a row. Control agents can be used in Nanade, butyl plus Bao Fu, Dasong, Taosong, Marathon, Baimening and other medicaments, the dosage is allocated according to its instructions.
Nematodes are harmful to roots and stems. In molluscs such as metaphor and snail, perforated nematode is the most serious, which not only causes root rot, but also destroys the bulb growth point without sprouting. Molluscs such as scorpions and scorpions nibble on new newspapers and buds. These animals have a common characteristic, their skin will secrete oil for them to glide and breathe, using detergents with anti-swelling effect, soapy water, dishwashing essence or soybean powder, bitter tea meal and other natural medicines can achieve good results. Soybean powder and bitter tea meal should be soaked and dissolved in edible vinegar or sweet and sour solution, and their juice should be diluted 200 times and infused or soaked. Chemicals can be treated with polyethylene suppository and Wanqiang, which is highly toxic and should be used with caution.
Pest control, in addition to active pesticide culling, negative removal is also a good strategy, such as hanging cyan, by-color or yellow adhesive tape, can reduce the harm of thrips and flying insects. Spread lime on the ground or cover the bed rack with a special bottle can prevent the cochlea from soaking, and sweet and vinegar solution can eliminate red spiders, water vinegar, alcohol, garlic juice, chili juice, bitter oil, camphor oil, green thatch oil and other pungent natural organic compounds are also very effective in repelling insects.
The prevention and control of insect pests must be wiped out, and a number of them have been killed. There are still a new batch of invasions outside, and the human body has been exposed to pesticides for a long time, which is very harmful to human health. The use of organic pesticides and physical control, gradually becoming the mainstream of modern agricultural science and technology, there are still many good ways to be developed. The above methods are obtained from the author's long-term experience and are only for readers' reference. (Liu Qingyong)
