Last Updated: 2024/11/05, Recently, many flower friends have asked for help: the water has been watered and the sun has been basked in. Why are the flowers always wilting? As soon as I heard that there was something wrong with the root, I immediately got into a mess. Don't worry, Huahua has an immediate solution here!

Why do flowers rot their roots?

The yellow leaves, falling leaves, falling flowers and wilting of flowers and plants are so common that many flower friends can't believe it. This is the signal of rotten roots.

The reason for the rotten root is also very clear, let's see if you have been hit:

1. Overwatering

Watering too much is the most direct reason. Some flower friends are too diligent. They will be watered today and tomorrow. The flowers are obviously full, and the rest of the water is soaked in the flowerpot. No wonder it is rotten.

2. The basin soil is not loose.

The pressure of the flower soil is too solid and tight, and the roots are not even breathable in it. I can hardly hold my breath in the first place. Pouring some more water can only add fuel to the fire.

3. Root injury

Many newly bought flowers are prone to rotten roots, but in fact, the roots have already been hurt. New potted plants usually split in the nursery first, and they can only be scarred when they are bought back with injuries.

4. The position is not ventilated

Ventilated environment is conducive to water evaporation, flowers absorb the rest of the water do not have to worry, some flower friends put in the corner, is really "dead"

What should we do after the rotten roots?

The rotting roots of camellia, jasmine, sweet-scented osmanthus, woody rose, rich tree, gardenia and so on are roughly the same. Here, take camellia as an example.

1. The performance of rotten roots

The root is integrated with the flowers and leaves. When the leaves droop and wilt, the flowers fall for no reason, and the leaves fall, these are all problems with the roots.

2. Dig out, check and clean up the rotten roots

If you suspect the rotten roots, dig them out quickly and take a look at them. Carefully clean up the excess soil from the roots (which can be washed off with water). The white roots are generally healthy, while the black and soft ones are broken.

Remove the rotten roots, regardless of the size of the roots, cut them to the fresh ones, and sterilize them with carbendazim solution for 20 minutes after cleaning.

If more than 90% of the roots are rotten, cut off the roots directly, as long as the wooden stalks, soak and take root in water. According to the type of flowers, it takes about 20-30 days to take root.

3. Change the soil and replant

Planting again needs to use loose soil, ordinary garden soil mixed with sand is very good, in order to sterilize, you can first drench with boiling water, dry and then use.

4. Subsequent watering and lighting

Water thoroughly after replanting the pot, put it in a cool and ventilated place to avoid exposure to the sun, and then move to the balcony after 5-8 days.

How to avoid rotting roots

1. The basin soil should be loose and breathable.

In order to make the flower soil more breathable, you can mix some particles: vermiculite, volcanic stone, perlite, Maifan stone, light stone, etc., ordinary gravel is also fine, but it should be sterilized with carbendazim solution.

2.Pad it in the flowerpot.

Cover the bottom of the flowerpot with some bricks and nut shells (do not use salty ha) to seep water and prevent soil hardening.

3. Rational watering

There are many kinds of flowers, and everyone must be worried about watering. In fact, just remember one sentence: dry soil is watered again, so how to judge whether it is dry or not? it can be done with a small bamboo stick.

Insert the bamboo stick (toothpick) into the soil and pull it up later. If the bamboo stick is wet, you don't need to water it. If the bamboo stick is dry, water it quickly.

4. Put it in a ventilated position

Such as green apple, gentleman orchid, hanging orchid and other non-sun-resistant can be put on the north balcony, camellia, jasmine, gardenia, fortune tree, etc., can be placed in the living room near the balcony, both ventilated and easy to enjoy.

Rotting roots of flowers and plants is not a big problem.

Just pay a little attention to the process of raising.

It can be avoided completely.
