Preparation and use of growth regulators (2)
The growth of flowers and plants needs not only sunlight, water and nutrients, but also a variety of growth regulators. Although the demand is very small, it plays a very important role in regulating the growth, development and metabolism of flowers and plants. In flower production, some hormones can be added artificially to control growth, promote rooting, break dormancy, cultivate strong seedlings, dwarf plant type, control flowering, enhance resistance, and prevent falling flowers, fruits and leaves.
Growth regulators are usually divided into five categories:
① auxin
There are mainly indoleacetic acid (LAA), indolebutyric acid (IBA) and naphthylacetic acid (NAA). It can promote cell division and elongation, promote hairy roots, prolong the delamination of ulnar leaves, flowers and fruits, and promote parthenocarpy.
② gibberellin
Gibberellin (GA) is a natural plant hormone, which can promote stem and leaf elongation, break dormancy, promote flower bud formation, promote flowering, and prevent organ shedding.
③ cytokinin
There are mainly kinetin (KT), 6-benzyladenine (BA) and zeatin (ZT). It can promote cell division and expansion, prevent organ aging, break dormancy, promote fruit growth and so on.
④ ethylene
It can inhibit the growth of stem, bud and root, promote flower bud shape and lateral bud germination, affect florescence and sex differentiation, and make fruit mature rapidly.
⑤ growth inhibitor
There are B9, CCC, MH and so on. It can slow down the cell division and elongation of stems or branches, and inhibit the elongation and growth of plants and branches. (Jiang Chengzi)
