Types and components of culture medium
Culture medium is the most important substrate in plant tissue culture, which is very important to the success of plant tissue culture. There are various kinds of culture medium, different plants and culture sites and different culture purposes need to choose different culture medium. At present, there are dozens of popular media in the world, and the ones commonly used in orchid culture are Ms, B5, Kc, Veter.W, Kyoto and so on.

Although there are many kinds of culture medium, the basic components are roughly the same, including water, distilled water, deionized water or tap water; inorganic salts, in which a large number of elements are nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium, sulfur, etc. Trace elements are iron, manganese, copper, zinc, platinum, boron, etc. Sugar is mainly sucrose; commonly used vitamins are B1, B2, nicotinic acid, etc., as well as inositol, amino acids, etc. The solid medium needs to be added with Agar as a coagulant to facilitate the fixation of culture materials on the medium.
