Last Updated: 2024/11/05, March is the best time for pollination, and the specific pollination should be adjusted according to the time of flowering. If plants want to pollinate, we must first select good parents, try to avoid self-pollination, it is best to choose different varieties to ensure the health of future generations. In addition, we need to understand the structure of the flower to make its pollination successful.

1. Time

This kind of flower blossoms from winter to spring. If it blossoms early, it can start pollination in December, and if it blossoms later, it can start in April or May. Some may also open in summer, but the temperature will be very high, the pollination quality will not be very high, and it will be easy to thank. March is the time when its flowers bloom more, and it is also the best time for pollination.

2. Artificial pollination

This kind of flower can be pollinated by worms, and if it had been kept indoors in winter or spring, there would have been no insects, so we could pollinate it artificially.

3. Parent selection

We need to know that if the plants are mating from distant relatives, the offspring will be stronger and more adaptable. If self-pollination, the seed will be less, even if the knot is also difficult to emerge, the development will not be too good. We can choose different plants of the same variety, but it is best to choose different plants of different varieties, so that it will bear more fruit and its offspring will grow better. In addition, we should pay attention to its characters, the color of flowers and the length of leaves are all affected by heredity, so we should consider the characteristics of parents to learn from each other and pollinate.

4. Flowering habits

We need to know that if we want to ensure that plants can produce more seeds, we still need to know the relevant characteristics of flowers. Each flower of this kind of plant can basically bloom for more than 20 days, if the higher the temperature is, the more it will bloom, and there will be more than ten or 20 flowers on each inflorescence, so the average flowering time on the whole inflorescence is about 40 or 50 days.

5. Pollination steps

The trigeminal ones in the flowers are pistils, and the other ones with anthers are stamens, which can be dotted on the trigeminal column with stamen pollen. If the powder is precious, you can stick the pollen with a sewing needle. The best time to spot powder is when the stamens explode and the trigeminal column has mucus. The success rate of this operation at noon is higher, and the flowering in the first year is not very good, so it is easy to hurt the plant. if you want to store pollen, it can be refrigerated for a long time, and the temperature should be below five degrees Celsius.
