Last Updated: 2024/11/10, A well-raised gentleman's orchid can blossom in two or three years, while the average one takes four or five years. And the plant only opens once a year, and properly cultivated can make it open two or three times a year. Its flowering period is from February to April, and there is a way to prolong the flowering period, which can lower the temperature and reduce the light.

First, flowering time

Its growth cycle is very long, so most of it takes four or five years to bloom, that is to say, it will blossom when it grows 20 to 25 leaves. If we cultivate it well, it can blossom once every two or three years, and it can also shorten the time to blossom in less than two years. Of course, basically, the plant can only blossom once a year, and if it is well raised, it may open one or two more arrows. Some people may not blossom until six or seven years in the process of raising it, or blossom only once and then never bloom again.

Its florescence is in the range from February to April, and there is its own way to prolong the flowering period. Lowering the temperature, ventilating it and reducing the light is the best way.

Second, pay attention to florescence

1. Applying bone powder before flowering, or using some bean cake water, can make the flowers more colorful, the flowers will increase, and the leaves will be thicker. If not, the flowers will be very difficult to bloom. At the same time, we also need to control the degree of nitrogen fertilizer, potassium and phosphorus and other fertilizers also need to be applied, otherwise it will have an impact on flowering.

2. Under the condition of strong light, its florescence will be very short, but the color of the flower will be brighter, on the contrary, the florescence of low light will be longer, but the color will be a little ugly. Whether it is long-term strong light or long-term weak light, it will lead to the accumulation of nutrients, thus affecting its flowering.

3. Temperature also has a great influence on it. if the temperature is too high, the root hair will exist for a short time, and the absorptive capacity will be weakened, so the flowering temperature should be controlled between 15 and 20. In this way, the root hair will exist for a long time, the absorption of water and fertilizer will be much better, and the flowers will grow very well.

4. It is necessary to water it more when it is in bloom, because at this time it has a relatively high requirement for water, with a humidity requirement of more than 60, but it should not be too high, not if it is more than 80.

5. Arrow entrapment should also be prevented. It is best to press the soil tightly, and then the temperature should be above 20. Moreover, the soil should not be allowed to form a plate, and the light is stronger in winter.
