Orchidaceae plants have a common feature, that is, the thick and long orchid root has no neck root, and there is symbiosis of orchid bacteria in each plant. The orchid absorbs mineral nutrients from the outside and supplies the plant; the cells of the root provide certain organic nutrients to supply the orchid, which depend on each other and coexist with each other. They must maintain good coordination in order to grow luxuriantly. If there are too many blue bacteria, it will destroy the root cells and affect the growth of the roots. if the main bacteria are too few or lack, the blue roots can not absorb enough nutrients. The use of humus-rich substrate and fertilizer supply is to give certain conditions to achieve a suitable coordinated balance between Lanji and blue bacteria, which is beneficial to the growth of orchid plants.

Some people think that Lansheng Mountain is elegant and unsuitable for fertilization. Generally speaking, if you use the traditional soil orchid, and change the pot and change the soil every year, the soil contains enough nutrients that there is no need to apply fertilizer. Especially for beginners, it is best to adopt this conservative method, do not fertilize at will, so as not to be self-defeating. It is best to have a better understanding of the habits of Lanhui before you begin to study fertilization. However, fertilization is necessary if the substrate material used is deficient in nutrients.

The types of fertilizers are divided into organic fertilizers and chemical fertilizers. Organic fertilizers are widely used in China, while chemical fertilizers are used in Hong Kong, Taiwan and abroad. With native orchids, there are two kinds of fertilizer: base fertilizer and topdressing fertilizer, which is mostly mixed with fermented bean cake or cow dung in the soil. In practical application, base fertilizer is used less, but topdressing is used more. Topdressing is usually water dung, bean cake, sesame paste and other fertilizers soaked in water, after 3-6 months of fermentation after flushing application, about 30-50 times diluted. In foreign countries, commercial organic fertilizers are sold on the market, such as fish fertilizer and bone meal. Oil meal, etc., some are made into liquid cold and then used, and some are made into solid rods, which are inserted into the matrix for plant use.

In terms of specific fertilizer, the domestic multi-use compound fertilizer, nitrogen, phosphorus, bell all contain. In foreign countries, there are special orchid fertilizers, and the more famous ones are Hyponex made in the United States, LongFlower made in Gavden Life,MagampK; Japan, Stimafol made in the United Kingdom and Aguasol made in Australia. In addition, there are fertilizers specializing in the supply of vitamins and trace elements. There are too many kinds to enumerate.

The method of fertilization, "talk about it diligently, do not be sudden and thick". Insist on eating less and eating more, and give sparingly many times. If the HyponeX made in the United States is used, it is diluted by a thousand times in the manual, but it is suitable to be used in the national orchid.

The best time to apply is in the peak growth period. Apply it every two weeks or so, and stop fertilizing in the standstill season of the year. However, those managed in the greenhouse can continue to apply fertilizer. There is also experience in thin-duty work, but special care should be taken.

Fertilization should be looked at three times, that is, look at the seedlings, look at the sky, look at the earth. There is a saying in the Koran book: "do not apply thin orchid suddenly, fat orchid do not be thin for a long time" (Qing, Zhu Kerou), which is in line with the scientific truth.
