In summer, with the rise of air temperature, all kinds of orchids enter the peak period of growth. at this time, we should do a good job in summer prevention and cooling, fertilizer and water management, pest control and disease control, so as to make orchids spend the summer safely.

Shading into summer, whether it is open-field cultivation or indoor orchid cultivation, shading should be done to avoid strong light. Awnings should be set up for shade, such as bamboo curtains and Reed curtains, which should be opened sooner or later to accept the scattered light of dawn and sunset. The semi-open-air orchid cultivation place needs all-day astigmatism, and the line art orchid needs 15% of the full-day light. In order to accelerate the growth of orchid sprouts, they can be exposed to low light for 1 hour sooner or later, and it is even more necessary to strengthen shading and heat prevention and cooling in extreme heat. Whether it is the ground or balcony, sooner or later, it is appropriate to often sprinkle water to humidify and cool down. The place of raising orchid should strengthen ventilation and make sure the air is fresh.

Watering in the peak period of orchid growth, once the lack of water in summer, the orchid growth is poor, orchids need eight points dry, two minutes wet. Watering should be in line with the principle of "dry is poured, wet is stopped, and properly dry". Water is released and thoroughly watered, not half of it. The watering times can depend on the plant material of the pot orchid. Such as volcanic stone, red brick grains, pumice and other hard hydrophobic plants can be watered once a day; pond mud, humus and other plants with strong water absorption can be watered once every 2-3 days, usually in the early morning or evening. Never water or pour at noon. It is better to use clean, pollution-free, slightly acidic water (PH value 5.5 Mel 6.5). Orchid rotten roots, black spots on the leaf surface, leaf bud rot and other morbid, mostly related to improper watering.

Generally speaking, the green leaf varieties should apply fertilizer with the balance of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, while the line magnolia should only apply phosphorus and potassium fertilizer. In the early summer, liquid fertilizer is applied every 10 to 15 days. When the heat temperature is higher than 30 ℃, all kinds of orchids should stop applying fertilizer. Four seasons orchid stalks unearthed or during flowering should not be fertilized. No matter what kind of organic fertilizer is used, it must be fully fermented and diluted with clean water. The best fertilization time is in the evening, and spray fresh water again in the morning the next day. The leaves are yellow and thin is lack of fertilizer, should be topdressing; black leaf tip scorch is too much fertilizer, should stop fertilization. In summer, 0.1% potassium dihydrogen phosphate is sprayed every 10 days or so to apply foliar fertilization. within 1-2 hours after fertilizer, the pot orchid can be watered with clean water to remove residual fertilizer and avoid gathering roots to rot because of fertilizer.

In the summer when Rain Water is full of diseases and insect pests and the air humidity is high, the environment of the orchid cultivation site is too wet and the materials in the basin become sour, which is easy to breed all kinds of diseases. If black spot, white silk disease and anthrax are found, the diseased plants and leaves should be removed in time, and the ventilation and light transmission should be strengthened to reduce the environmental humidity.

White silk disease is easy to occur in summer. 1 ∶ 1 ∶ Bordeaux solution can be used to irrigate the roots, or plant ash or lime can be sprinkled on the roots. Black spot and anthracnose can be sprayed with 50% carbendazim 500 times or 70% topiramine 800 times. After the occurrence of red spiders, aphids and shell insects, insect branches and leaves should be cut off in time to reduce the source of insects. It can also be controlled with 1000 times of 40% omethoate or 50% malathion and sprayed for 3 times with good results.
