It is commonly known as loser. The main reasons are improper watering, too much Rain Water, or unreasonable structure of basin soil, poor drainage, and sometimes the invasion of germs will lead to rotting roots. Rotten roots caused the orchid leaves to yellowing, atrophy, shedding, sometimes even the head of the Reed rotted, and even the whole plant died. The root system of orchid belongs to fleshy root. only under the condition of relative balance of humidity can the root system of orchid play the role of absorbing and transporting nutrients. So, how to deal with rotten roots? I would like to make a few points:

First, change the basin as soon as possible. When it is found that the rotten roots of orchids, it is necessary to re-change the soil and plant materials on the pot, and the plant materials should pay attention to the quality and water absorption performance. It is better to burn soil or dry soil, charcoal and other plant materials, and some coarse sand can also be properly mixed in the root Reed part, and the effect is better.

The second is to control sunshine. After changing the basin for a period of time, can not be exposed to the hot sun, should be placed in the sun, ventilation place, but should pay attention to the wind should not be too strong so as not to be affected.

The third is to pay attention to the planting method of changing pots. In addition to ensuring that the basin soil is open to water, the plant material from the lower part of the Reed head to close to the root should be dense, and the Reed head should be planted deeper appropriately, which not only plays a protective role, but also prevents the Reed head from shaking or floating off the soil surface. Rotten roots and atrophied and yellowed leaves should be cut off to reduce nutrient loss, so that the nutrition of Reed head can be stored to maintain root development.

Fourth, reasonable watering. In the cultivation and management, the use of water should be strictly regulated, and the basin soil should be semi-wet and dry, neither white and dry nor too wet. In case of rainy days, you should move to the place where the rain is sheltered, and try to control the humidity of the basin soil to ensure that it takes root normally.

Fifth, appropriate fertilization. After changing the basin, you can't apply fertilizer, wait until the sprout, apply a small amount of compound fertilizer; after the new seedling leaves, then apply nitrogen fertilizer or fish meal, bone meal and other organic fertilizer. In order to reduce acidity and prevent rodents and diseases, it is best to soak and ferment soaked soybeans for several months, then dilute them with clean water at about 1:20, and spray topiramate to prevent bacteria and diseases.

The rotten roots of orchids can still be remedied as long as they are managed properly. The lotus plant I planted last year has rotten roots due to long rain. After proper management, it still sprouts, leaves and blossoms, and it is growing well this year, and each small pot has blossomed two or three times, each time several flowers, each with 6-7 flowers.
