1. Soil

Succulent plants are suitable for the use of water and air permeability, dry, sterile and insect-free soil. Beginners suggest using a mixture of perlite and coconut bran (1:2) to make a substrate, which is suitable for the growth needs of most succulent plants. For the dry climate in the north, it is necessary to increase the moisture retention of the soil, while for the wet and rainy weather in the south, it is necessary to improve the drainage performance of the soil.

2. Lighting

Succulent plants need plenty of light to grow, and too little light or dark light can lead to overgrowth. When raising succulent plants indoors, it is appropriate to place them in sunny windows or balconies. If the summer temperature is too high, you can use a shading net with a shading rate of 70%, and avoid 12-15:00 sun exposure; you can fully accept sunshine in other seasons.

3. Moisture

The principle of watering succulent plants is to water less and thoroughly to avoid rotting roots and black rot caused by stagnant water in the basin; too much water is not conducive to the shape of succulent plants to make them grow. In spring and autumn is the growing season for succulent plants, the best time for watering is when the lower leaves begin to dry up; summer is the dormant season for succulent plants, which is mainly spray watering to keep the surface of basin soil moist; and watering times should be reduced in winter.

4. Temperature

The origin of succulent plants is South Africa, and the most suitable growth temperature is between 12 and 28 degrees Celsius, so spring and autumn are the most exuberant seasons for succulent plants. In raising succulent plants at home, make sure that the room temperature is above 8 degrees Celsius in winter and below 35 degrees Celsius in summer, and pay attention to ventilation and cooling.

5. Fertilizer

Succulent plants are less dependent on fertilizer, but moderate fertilization can promote their healthy growth. Succulent fertilization follows the principle of frequent application of thin fertilizer, changing pots in spring and autumn is the best time to apply fertilizer; dormant period must stop fertilization to avoid rotting roots.

6. Summary

The most important aspect of raising succulent plants is to maintain adequate light and moderate watering. Friends raised at home should pay attention to the room temperature should not be too low or too high, and use water-permeable and breathable soil.
