The meeting stressed that efforts should be made to strengthen the supply-side structural reform of agriculture, improve the quality and efficiency of the agricultural supply system, and ensure that the supply of agricultural products is sufficient in quantity, variety and quality meet the needs of consumers, and truly form an effective supply of agricultural products with reasonable structure and strong guarantee.

Speed up the digestion of excessive agricultural stocks

"destocking" and "cost reduction", which are mostly used in the industrial field, also appeared at the central rural work conference this time.

The meeting pointed out that at present, it is necessary to attach great importance to removing stocks, reducing costs, and making up for deficiencies, speed up the digestion of excessive stocks of agricultural products, speed up the transformation of grain processing, and reduce the unreasonable use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides by developing appropriate scale operations. reduce production costs, improve agricultural efficiency and competitiveness, strengthen agricultural infrastructure and other weak links in agricultural supply, and increase the production of agricultural products in short supply in the market.

The price mechanism of agricultural products is facing "overhaul"

The meeting pointed out that it is necessary to improve the price formation mechanism and collection and storage policies of grain and other important agricultural products, and the price mechanism of agricultural products is facing an "overhaul." Chen Xiwen, deputy head of the Central Rural work leading Group, believes that in the future, prices should be separated from subsidies, and prices are mainly formed by the market. If the market price is too low, the government will adopt appropriate policies to directly subsidize farmers.

The meeting stressed that priority should be given to ensuring financial investment in agriculture and rural areas, ensuring that the intensity will not be weakened and that the total amount will increase. It is necessary to increase the integration of agriculture-related funds, give full play to the guiding role of financial investment in structural reform, and pry more social funds into agriculture and rural areas.
