China's annual grass production value has exceeded 300 billion yuan, 280 million mu of artificial grass

The annual output value of the national grass industry has exceeded 300 billion yuan.
Yu Kangzhen said at the third China Grass Industry Conference held in Inner Mongolia a few days ago that in recent years, China's grassland protection and construction has been continuously strengthened, supporting policies and measures have been gradually improved, the production and processing capacity of grass industry has been continuously improved, and the pace of science and technology promotion has been accelerated. According to monitoring, the comprehensive vegetation coverage of grasslands across the country reached 54.2% in 2013.
According to the report on the Development of China's Grass Industry released a few days ago, China has formed a national support system for the development of the grass industry, encouraging and supporting the development of the grass industry from the aspects of policy, capital, technology and so on. Since 2011, the state has allocated 13.4 billion yuan a year to comprehensively establish a subsidy and incentive mechanism for grassland ecological protection in eight major grassland pastoral areas of Inner Mongolia, Xinjiang, Xizang, Qinghai, Sichuan, Gansu, Ningxia and Yunnan. Since 2000, Guojia has invested a total of 4.4 billion yuan to establish 367000 hectares of artificial grassland in the Beijing-Tianjin wind and sand source control project, and invested 13.57 billion yuan to implement the project of returning grazing to grassland.
At present, the artificial recommended area of the country has reached 280 million mu, with an annual theoretical output of 45 million tons; three types of forage planting and processing industries have been formed: self-production, ecological function and commodity production; and there are more than 300 grass product processing enterprises registered in the country. Experts say that in the future, China will vigorously develop grassland agriculture on the basis of making full use of 41% of the grasslands. It is expected that by 2020, with the supplement of the grass industry, China is expected to enter a new era of stable self-sufficiency in grain and the export of surplus grain and feed.
