In order to do a good job in the construction of demonstration areas and promote the development of modern agriculture in various places, the state has invested heavily in demonstration areas. From 2011 to 2013, the central government allocated 600 million yuan to focus on the construction of demonstration areas, and in 2013, the Ministry of Agriculture also specially arranged 210 million yuan of pilot funds to support the reform of demonstration areas by "rewarding instead of subsidizing".

With the increasing scale of agricultural production and operation, the demand for agricultural financing becomes more urgent, and some demonstration areas have problems such as shortage of funds and poor financing. These problems are not only difficult problems faced in the construction of demonstration areas, but also common problems existing in the development of modern agriculture in various places.

Experts pointed out that the development of modern agriculture involves many departments. At present, the central and provincial departments of water conservancy, agriculture, land and forestry have project fund support. The key is to do a good job in organic connection and supporting between project contents and promote the construction of modern agricultural demonstration areas and the development of modern agriculture as a whole.

From the current point of view, the overall progress of each demonstration area is relatively fast, but affected by factors such as development foundation and financial support, the development of demonstration areas in each region is not balanced. According to the Measures for Monitoring and Evaluating the Construction Level of National Modern Agricultural Demonstration Areas (Trial), the development level of 14 demonstration areas has reached the score of basically realizing modernization, including 10 in the eastern region and 4 in the northeast and western regions. The demonstration areas with relatively lagging development need to increase horsepower, combine their own regional characteristics "personalized customization", and walk out of the road of modern agricultural development with regional characteristics.
