Post-flower management of Dahuahui orchid
After Cymbidium blossoms, it is very difficult for families or ordinary units to let it bloom again. The author is located in Jining, Shandong Province. Through experiments in recent years, I have mastered its growth law in the process of management and let it blossom again.
Preparation materials: plastic flowerpot (20 cm x 24 cm) or larger than the original pot, a small electric drill, a drill bit diameter of 0.7 cm, fermented block bark and sawdust. Generally, the Cymbidium bought from the market is a black high pot (15 cm × 20 cm). After flowering, the stalk is cut off from the base and replaced into a larger plastic flowerpot. The holes around the flowerpot are drilled with electric drills, and the holes are zigzag between holes with a spacing of 5 cm. Put a layer of massive bark with a large fingernail cover at the bottom of the basin, and then spread a layer of mature sawdust. After the plant is removed from the original pot, do not move all the roots, because the roots are too dense and intertwined, so as to avoid root cutting and root injury. After putting the plant straight, fill it with a mixture of sawdust and lumpy bark around the root. In order to prevent unreality, gently mash it with a small stick, then fill in some, vibrate gently, put it in a semi-shaded place after installing the basin, and water it the next day. When watering, do not drench from above, use the soaking method, put it into a larger basin, and let it absorb water automatically from the bottom until the surface is moist. During the whole growth period, the bottom soaking method was used for watering and fertilizing. In this way, the balance of water and fertilizer can be achieved, and the fungicide will be sprayed after changing the basin for a week.
Maintenance and management: if there are more sprouts in spring, it can be kept at about 3, and the rest can be removed and placed in a sunny place. In order to create a moist growth space, a layer of sand about 4 cm thick can be spread around the flowerpot. The area should be 50 cm × 80 cm per plant. Keep the sand moist at ordinary times, pay attention to ventilation, pay attention to dry rather than wet when watering, and apply 1% compound fertilizer solution every semimonthly. Timely shade in summer, choose 50% shade net, suspend fertilization, strengthen ventilation, and strengthen spray when the temperature is high. After the weather is cool in autumn, strengthen fertilizer and water management, apply 2% potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution every 10 days, can also be combined with foliar fertilization. Generally in the last ten days of November, new buds can be seen, at this time there are flower buds and leaf buds, flower buds wide, thick, leaf bud tip, thin, can remove leaf buds, control vegetative growth, after the emergence of flower buds, the temperature can be maintained between 10 ℃ to 26 ℃, continue to apply potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution, when the flower arrow is pulled out, when the flower bud is about to open, tie the pillar, you can be ready to watch.
The main diseases of Cymbidium are root rot, anthracnose, leaf spot, insect pests are often shell insects, during the growth period, diligent observation, timely detection and treatment, but mainly prevention.
