Qiulan is also called Jianlan. In general, a pot of conjoined Cymbidium (that is, more than 20 seedlings per pot) can germinate flower buds for 2 or 3 times from early summer to late autumn, of which the most exuberant time of flowering is around the Beginning of Autumn. Although the flower bud can be repeated after the establishment of autumn, but the germination rate is significantly reduced. As the blooming season is the hottest day, the flowering period is short, and the best flowering period is only 3-5 days. If the flowering period is pushed back and the temperature drops a little, the flowering period is bound to be prolonged accordingly.

I have planted orchids for more than 10 years and have many pots of autumn orchids. In recent years, I have adopted the method of removing the flower buds that germinated in the early stage (June to July) to postpone the florescence, and the effect is good. Specific measures: take the end of July as the boundary, remove all the flower buds germinated before the big pot of autumn orchids (more than 20 seedlings), and retain the flower buds that occur again later, so that September happens to be the full bloom, autumn is cool and pleasant, and the time for enjoying flowers is relatively prolonged.

It should be noted that Qiulan must reach a certain number of seedlings. If the number of seedlings is less (less than 10 seedlings), the rate of recurrent flower buds is very low, and only when the number of seedlings is more (15 to 20 seedlings or more), the rate of recurrent flower buds is higher. Therefore, it is best to implement this measure only on multiple conjoined large pots of Cymbidium.
