Virus disease of orchids
All orchid diseases caused by viruses are commonly known as viral diseases, or virulent diseases. At the initial stage, the symptoms of viral disease are not obvious, and they may be mistaken for bacterial infection. In fact, at present, there is no treatment for viral disease, and prevention can only be done. Common symptoms of viral disease include macula on the leaves, or gangrenous black spots, or faded or dark green patches, uneven coloring of flowers, and even irregular flowers.
If the above situation occurs, the plant should be isolated or discarded immediately. In addition to reducing insect pests, it should also be noted that the planting density should not be too high to avoid contagion due to friction, while utensils that have come into contact with diseased plants, such as scissors or knives, should be soaked in 5% sodium hydroxide (sodiumhydroxide,NaOH) for 1 minute.
