Organic agriculture is not just a matter for producers.
In Jiangjiazhuang Village, Pingyi County, Shandong Province, Jiang Gaoming, a researcher at the Botanical Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, rented a 20-mu farm to grow corn, soybeans and wheat, and raised more than 100 cattle. No chemical fertilizers, pesticides, agricultural films, additives, herbicides. After three years of farming, on the farms that have gradually achieved ecological balance, the grain output is close to "ton grain fields", and straw and grass in the fields have become the food for cattle. However, when more than 100 cattle were raised out of the pen, the cattle dealers who collected the cattle did not care whether Jiang Gaoming's cattle were "green". What he wanted more was the cattle that had been fed with special feed and looked strong. "the lean meat rate is a little higher, and each cow can be sold for an extra 600 yuan."
With high labor, slightly lower yield and greater risk, "organic agriculture" with the purpose of ecological cultivation obviously has many advantages over conventional agriculture in food safety, and can also make people eat "childhood taste" in terms of taste and flavor. However, due to the imperceptibility of the quality of agricultural products, organic products often have to face the market dilemma of "even the emperor's daughter is worried about marrying": first, there is no superior price for high quality, due to the non-use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides, the appearance of organic agricultural products is not as decent as ordinary agricultural products, and "unable to sell" has become an awkward situation faced by organic agricultural products in various major markets. Second, weak coins drive out good coins, and the behavior of selling ordinary food as organic agricultural products in the market not only dampens the enthusiasm of producers who start serious organic cultivation from the source, but also causes consumers to have a crisis of confidence in the public brand of "organic food".
In the face of the increasingly tight constraints of resources and environment, organic agriculture is undoubtedly an effective way to change the mode of agricultural development and take the road of coordinated development of production and environmental protection. However, the restoration of the ecological environment, the use of organic fertilizers and a large amount of manual input need the common support and attention of the society to this mode of production.
The way that the community formed spontaneously to support agriculture provides a new way of thinking for the development of organic agriculture. Consumers pay vegetable money for a year or six months in advance and receive vegetable distribution twice a week; farms promise not to use chemical products such as fertilizers, pesticides and herbicides. Consumers share the risks of agricultural producers and gain reassuring fruits and vegetables-this land-based connection has become a new way of combining urban and rural areas.
The organic planting model also needs the correct guidance of the government to shape consumers' trust in organic food under the premise of standardized management, and the strict management of a small organic food certification certificate. it means that producers who adhere to safe planting methods can get their due returns in the market, so as to persist in organic agriculture to the end.
