Agricultural products processing industry contributes 9% to farmers' income.

In 2013, the main business income of China's agricultural products processing industry was 17.2 trillion yuan, an increase of 18.3 percent over the same period last year, with 22.98 million employees, more than 70 percent of whom were farmers. This was introduced by Yang Shaobin, a member of the party group of the Ministry of Agriculture, at a press conference of the 2014 China Agricultural products processing Industry Investment and Trade Fair.

According to reports, China's agricultural product processing industry has developed rapidly since the beginning of this century, but there are still some problems, such as large but not strong industry, low scientific and technological content, scattered layout, lack of public services, and so on. To this end, the 2014 China Agricultural Conference, to be held in Zhumadian, Henan Province, on September 6-8, will adhere to the problem orientation, highlight the theme of popularization and transformation of scientific research achievements, and strengthen investment and financing and bank-enterprise negotiations. At that time, a number of state-level scientific research institutes, colleges and universities, such as the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and China Agricultural University, will introduce a number of technological achievements and carry out science-enterprise docking. More than 20 banks, securities companies and investment institutions will carry out bank-enterprise docking, and experts and scholars will discuss issues such as difficult loans and expensive financing.
