The national traditional Chinese medicine market sold about 12000 tons, and the market stock was about 1787.5 tons, of which the average market price of Panax notoginseng was 439.2 yuan / kg, down 33.8 percent from the same period last year.

The "report" believes that the larger increase in ginseng prices is due to the fact that ginseng is listed as a new resource food, the market demand has increased greatly, and the planting cycle of ginseng has been six years, so it is difficult to increase planting and expanding production in the short term, and the government tends to be strict in the examination and approval of planting ginseng forestland. to a certain extent, the output of ginseng is limited.

Different from the development of ginseng industry, the planting base of Panax notoginseng does not need strict government examination and approval, it is relatively easy for drug farmers to expand, and the planting cycle of Panax notoginseng is 3 years, so it is relatively easy to expand. The price of Panax notoginseng has risen for three years in a row, which has stimulated the planting enthusiasm of drug farmers. Wenshan Prefecture, the main producing area, has expanded the planting area one after another, the rapidly expanding planting area has caused the output to obviously exceed the demand, and the market downward cycle has come.

In addition, the report points out that the situation of Radix Pseudostellariae is similar to that of Panax notoginseng. At present, the price has fallen to 20% of that in 2011, but it has not yet hit rock bottom, and prices are expected to continue to fall in the future. The average price of thistle is 12.5 yuan / kg, down 34% from the previous year. However, the report believes that due to the strong demand at home and abroad in recent years, especially the rapid growth of demand for thistle extract in foreign markets, it is expected that the price of thistle will rise significantly in the future.
