Color appreciation

(1) Prime valve

All the labial flaps without color patches are vegetarian heart flaps. As the pigment of orchids is mostly concentrated in the lip, therefore, the general lip colorless block, the outer three petals and holding petals will not have color blocks. The traditional plain flap has three outer petals, the holding flap is green, and the labial flap is white. Correspondingly, the lip of the general orchid is called halo because it is reddish or purple.

According to the color of labial flap, it can be divided into green placenta, white placenta, yellow placenta, peach parotid element (red halo on both sides of tongue root) and hairpin (faint red on tongue coating). Green is the most expensive color of vegetarian heart valve. Recently, the meaning of vegetarian petals has been expanded, where the color of the tongue and flowers are the same, are called vegetarian heart petals, such as yellow flower, safflower, purple flower. This kind of flower has been found in Sichuan, Yungui and Lianghu, but less in Jiangsu and Zhejiang.

According to the outer three valves and the support valve, it can be divided into plum type element, such as Cai Meisu. Lotus type elements, such as Yang's he Su, Wen Tuansu. Butterfly, such as Yang's butterfly. Bamboo leaf element, such as Yin Gu Su, Tiantong Su. As for general herbs, because the petals are as narrow as chicken feet, they are not included in the list of fine flowers.

(2) complex color valve

1. There are green gold claw (yellow claw), green silver claw (white claw), white green claw and yellow green claw. As the orchid leaves clawed, so did the corresponding flowers. Such as Phnom Penh jade clothes, dawn and so on.

2. Chimera petals have irregular yellow and white lines. Due to chimera patterns in orchid leaves, chimera patterns also appear in the corresponding flowers, such as colorful crowns.

3. The petal edge of the compound wheel flower is inlaid with white or yellow, which is called the compound wheel flower. Due to the appearance of the covering wheel on the leaves, sometimes the corresponding flower also appears the covering wheel, such as Phnom Penh jade clothes.

4. There are irregular yellow spots and white spots on the petals of variegated flowers. Due to the markings on the orchid leaves, sometimes the corresponding flowers also appear markings, but this kind of phenomenon is rare.
