Last Updated: 2024/09/16, There will be drought and waterlogging on July 15 and a harvest on August 15. However, since the beginning of summer, 12 provinces and regions, including Henan, Shaanxi and Hebei, have been suffering from drought. "there will be drought and waterlogging on July 15 and a harvest on August 15." However, since the beginning of summer, 12 provinces and regions, including Henan, Shaanxi and Hebei, have been suffering from drought. Recently, Mei Xurong, head of the disaster prevention and mitigation expert guidance group of the Ministry of Agriculture and director of the Science and Technology Bureau of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, said in an interview: "if the subtropical high does not go northward, it may cause a relatively serious summer drought in the Huang-Huai region, because our crops are in a critical period of growth, development and yield formation."

Mei Xurong suggested that we should continue to pay attention to the development of the drought, especially to make medium-and long-term forecasts. It is necessary to make full preparations for drought resistance, whether by means of water conservancy, agronomy, or chemical drought resistance, and to select some technologies suitable for these areas to do a good job in drought prevention and drought resistance. At present, what should be done well in dry land is to preserve soil moisture, and some chemical drought-resistant techniques, such as anti-transpiration agents, can be properly considered. In areas with irrigation conditions, we should do a good job in the allocation of water resources as far as possible, try to achieve timely water-saving irrigation and reduce the impact of water shortage. In some areas, if the medium-and long-term drought continues, it is necessary to consider whether there are emergency crops that can be replanted after the end of the harvest.

Winning a bumper harvest is a normal problem. So how should we deal with it in the long run?

Mei Xurong believes that the first thing is to do a good job in the risk zoning of crops. In these areas where there has been nine droughts in the past ten years, crops should be arranged and adjusted according to the law of precipitation.

Second, it is necessary to strengthen the infrastructure construction of farmland, including the fertilization of soil fertility, including the construction of irrigation facilities. "the soil itself is a reservoir, which can accumulate more water. In the face of continuous drought, with good basic soil fertility and irrigation conditions, it is a very important aspect for us to stay in an invincible position. " Mei Xurong said.

Third, it is necessary to grasp the arrival rate of a series of farming and cultivation measures.

"Spring droughts are the most frequent in our country. A few years ago, wheat encountered drought, we have done research, a series of cultivation techniques are in place, drought will not occur. If the sowing quality is not in place and the management is not in place, drought often occurs. In other words, if the technical measures of agriculture are not in place, the degree of drought is completely different. This has something to do with the quality and depth of sowing, including the arrival rate of repression technology. Under the same drought conditions, others may not have any influence, but your influence here may be very great. " Mei Xurong stressed that dealing with drought must be done in a normal way, rather than cramming temporarily.

Fourth, once there are serious disasters, we should mobilize all kinds of resources and forces in time to carry out emergency disaster relief, and apply some disaster relief techniques to arid areas in a timely manner, so as to recover some losses.

Mei Xurong believes that whether the technology is good or the measures are good, the key is to "fall": first, we should understand the laws, follow them, have a kind of awe for nature, and should not plant them blindly. Second, scientific research departments are required to simplify these technologies lightly. For example, a field operation, or a simple technical product input can be put in place. There is also the question of technology penetration. In order to let the farmers know about this technology, we should also work it out for the farmers, let them see the results, and let the people see that these technologies are effective.

"We still emphasize that disaster prevention should be given priority to in agricultural production. From the layout, to the daily technical arrival rate, to emergency relief, if these combinations of punches can be played well, we can deal with disasters calmly. " Mei Xurong said.
