Ministry of Commerce: prices of edible agricultural products and means of production returned slightly last week

Last Updated: 2024/11/06, According to the monitoring of the Ministry of Commerce, the market prices of edible agricultural products and the prices of the means of production in circulation in 36 large and medium-sized cities across the country fell slightly last week (August 4-10). Last week, the average price of 18 kinds of vegetables fell 1.2% from the previous week, including eggplant, balsam pear, tomato and other melons.

According to the monitoring of the Ministry of Commerce, the market prices of edible agricultural products and the prices of the means of production in circulation in 36 large and medium-sized cities across the country fell slightly last week (August 4-10).

Last week, the average price of 18 kinds of vegetables fell 1.2% from the previous week, with melons and fruits such as eggplant, balsam pear and tomatoes falling 6.3%, 5.3% and 4.2% respectively from the previous week. The price of edible oil fell steadily, of which the prices of soybean oil and rapeseed oil fell 0.7% and 0.1% respectively compared with the previous week, and the price of peanut oil was the same as the previous week. Grain prices fell slightly in a steady state, with rice prices down 0.2% from the previous week, and flour prices unchanged from the previous week. Pork prices rose 0.7% from the previous week, while beef and mutton prices were the same as the previous week. The average price of aquatic products rose 0.2%, of which the prices of small yellow croaker, large yellow croaker and crucian carp rose 1.6%, 0.5% and 0.4% respectively over the previous week. The price of poultry eggs has risen, of which the price of white-striped chicken has increased by 0.5% over the previous week, and the price of eggs has increased by 1.6% over the previous week.

Last week, coal prices fell 1.5% from the previous week, of which lignite, bituminous coal and anthracite fell 3.2%, 1.5% and 1.2% respectively. The price of non-ferrous metals decreased by 0.3%, of which the prices of nickel, lead, copper, tin and aluminum fell by 1.2%, 0.7%, 0.6%, 0.5% and 0.1% respectively, and the price of zinc increased by 0.2%. Steel prices are generally flat, of which the prices of ordinary medium plates and welded steel pipes have all dropped by 0.2%, while the prices of hot-rolled ordinary thin plates and rebar have all increased by 0.1%. The prices of chemical products remained unchanged, of which the prices of toluene and pure benzene decreased by 1.2% and 1.1% respectively, while the prices of phenol and phthalic anhydride increased by 4.4% and 1.2% respectively. Rubber prices remained stable, including domestic standard rubber, imported tobacco rubber, cis-butadiene rubber, nitrile rubber, styrene-butadiene rubber prices were the same as the previous week.
