I once posted a post "my planting material" in the China Orchid Network Forum, and made a brief introduction to the self-proclaimed "four-in-one soil". After another year of "test", from the situation of spring orchid sprouting, rooting and flowering, I feel the effect is good, and it has been improved through continuous experiments. I would like to introduce it to you for your reference and correction. One, four in one soil. 1, main ingredients: fairy soil, granular orchid mud, pond cornerstone (planting gold stone), red brick grain. It is jokingly called "four in one soil". Additional ingredients: active soil, charcoal, snake wood. Second, the preparation of planting materials. The main plant materials are sifted through 4 mesh and 8 mesh (as shown in figure 3) (not used below 8 mesh) and divided into two sizes. The immortal soil is soaked in water for more than 24 hours and the water is leached. The granulated orchid mud needs to be exposed to sunlight or sterilized by other methods, and the brick particles should be clean and round. Then four kinds of plant materials are mixed according to the size of 25% each, which is called "native land". Third, the choice of pots. Four-in-one soil is suitable for mud purple sand basin (also known as sweat basin), plastic basin, mud basin and so on. When planting, you should choose the size of the basin according to the size of the orchid clump, and use it as small as possible, which is good for root and grass. Fourth, the use of plant materials. For the general mature species of bluegrass, the female parent can be planted by adding an appropriate amount of active soil, charcoal and other additional plant materials. For some bluegrass, according to the different conditions of bluegrass, the method of adding a single plant material should be used to make corresponding adjustments: 1. To promote art orchid, weak orchid and diseased orchid, the pond cornerstone and brick grains should be added appropriately to make the fatness of the plant material lighter. A small amount of active soil, snake wood and charcoal can be added. 2. Down the mountain orchid, increase the granulated orchid mud to about 40%, which can be added with snake wood and charcoal. 3. Resale grass: it can be planted with female parent mud, and 5% active soil and snake wood can be added. 4. Butterflies generally sprout and bloom more frequently, and an appropriate amount of fairy soil, granular orchid mud, active soil, snake wood and so on should be added. 5. For the orchid clump with bad root system, blackening and damage found during introduction, some charcoal powder can be added. Five, four in one soil fertilizer and water management. (1) use fertilizer: except that I apply 800 times the king of orchid bacteria twice at the beginning of March every year for budding, I do not apply any other fertilizer, because fertilizer is a "double-edged sword". If it is not used properly, it will bring a series of problems, such as burning roots, scorching tips, falling seedlings, stopping growth, and even the death of bluegrass, so orchid friends like me should be cautious in using fertilizer. If fertilizer is used, it should also follow the principle of frequent application of thin fertilizer. (2) watering off. 1. Fixed root water: after putting on the basin, pour it through repeatedly with heavy water, so that there is no turbidity and fine particles in the water exudating from the bottom of the basin. The orchid with bad root system adds some methyl topiramate to the basin before watering and seeps into the mud with the watering. The initial stage should pay attention to the humidity in the basin, because just on the basin, the basin surface is dry, the basin is also dry, to prevent bluegrass from losing water. 2. Daily management: during germination and sprouting period, keep moist. When the temperature is above 18 ℃, watering should be done as soon as it is dry, wet rather than dry, and the humidity and circulation of the air should be improved as far as possible. The basin should be watered if it is dry below 1cm. In summer, in addition to watering for a long time after overcast and rain, should be watered once a day or every other day, watering time is best carried out when the temperature is low at night. In autumn, the watering frequency is slightly lower than that in spring, and it is found that the basin is wet. When the basin surface is dry, a sprayer can be used to humidify the basin surface to make it moist. Water should be controlled in winter, depending on the basin soil 2cm below dry watering, watering time is best carried out around noon. Every watering day should be postponed if it is cloudy and rainy. (3) matters needing attention: 1. The basin surface particles are relatively dry, which does not mean that the basin is dry. We can pour some granular mud for observation. 2. In the same place and at the same time, the materials and sizes of the pots are different, the degree of dryness and wetness in the basin is different, the sturdiness and quantity of bluegrass in the basin and the consumption of water are different, which leads to the difference of watering time between different pots, and it is difficult to control the watering time. In view of this reason, we should find ways to make the watering time consistent. The specific method is: fewer seedlings, small seedlings, weak seedlings, should be clustered together in one basin. Choose some potted plants with good air permeability, seedlings are large and robust, choose pots with slightly larger and good moisturizing properties, and you can also adjust the particle size of plant materials. Large particles are easy to dry and small particles are moisturizing. When watering, it is found that some of them are still wet, so we can pour less water. The advantages of six and four in one soil. 1. Easy to get and easy to match. 2. The germination rate is high, and the seedlings of the second and third generations are normally nursed, and the seedlings are strong. 3. The hair root is good, and the old root has the phenomenon of new root. 4. The addition of granular orchid mud overcomes the defects caused by growing orchids with a single hard plant, such as small blooming, thin petals, non-faint fragrance and so on. Can use less fertilizer, avoid the trouble caused by improper use of fertilizer 7, a few words worthy of attention. 1. Orchids are not dried to death, only those that are watered to death! 2. Wet, moist ≠ flooding, waterlogging. 3. Raise orchids with an ordinary heart, and pulling seedlings cannot be encouraged. Haste makes waste. 4. Don't take orchids as a thing, and don't take orchids as a matter. The above is my superficial experience in the process of raising orchids, and my expression ability is limited, and the problem of planting materials can only be superficial. Please give me a lot of advice.
