My opinion on "Bailas"

The toxin disease "Bailas" is a systematic disease, that is, the systemic disease caused by the virus invading bluegrass cells. after infection, the blue plant shows the characteristics of sunken discolored patches or stripes on the leaves, which reduces the ornamental texture of bluegrass. In serious cases, it will lead to leaf gangrene, affect the growth and development of bluegrass, and even become extinct. According to the investigation report of bluegrass diseases, there are mainly two kinds of viruses invading bluegrass: East Arabian mosaic virus (Cymbidium mosaic virus; referred to as CyMV) and Odontoglossum ringspot virus; rotated spot virus (ORSV for short). These two viruses often co-infect and harm the orchid strain. Moreover, both CyMV and ORSV viruses are extremely stable and can be transmitted by contact. Even cultivated plant materials, fertilizers and water for irrigation may be vectors for the transmission of these two viruses. However, so far, no vector insects that can transmit these two viruses have been found. Many studies on bluegrass have pointed out that although the virus causing bluegrass toxin disease takes orchid plants as its main natural host, no virus infection has been found in wild orchid plants. from this we can infer that the occurrence of bluegrass toxin disease "Bailas" is closely related to artificial cultivation. With the vigorous development of economy and the improvement of people's living standards, when aristocratic orchids were gradually transformed into civilian flowers, bluegrass also entered a stage of rapid mass production in response to the effect of "market economy". In the process of rapid quantification, the use of a large number of hormones, chemical fertilizers and pesticides also makes the infection of "Bailas" more and more widespread. At present, many orchid friends, especially newcomers to Lanmen, have reached the point of fear of "Bailas". As long as they find a trace of unknown patches on the orchid leaves, that is, they are at a loss for fear, and there is a tendency that the end is coming, the light ones are quarantined, or even discarded or destroyed, but they have never thought deeply about the management of planting, fertilizing and medication. I posted "Bailas, Don't panic" on Guolan online under the pseudonym of "Yi Man" at this time last year (2002). In this article, apart from putting forward his superficial views on bluegrass toxicosis, it also reveals his worries about the survival of bluegrass varieties in the future, but the article failed to resonate and reflected on the causes of raising Lanyou's understanding of "Belas". Deeply regret. Many orchid friends almost blamed resale grass for the recent spread of "Belas", believing that resale grass is viral grass, a cheap poisonous weed deliberately introduced by unscrupulous orchid merchants and orchid peddlers in order to reap huge profits. I would like to be fair here, resale grass is not the same as viral grass, the original seed does not mean that there is no virus seedling. In the process of individual orchid cultivation, in the first ten years, due to the limitation of environmental conditions at that time, almost all the traditional methods of orchid cultivation were used. The plant materials used were the mountain soil dug down the mountain by aboriginal orchids, snake wood and broken bricks, and all natural organic fertilizers were used for fertilization. when insect pests and diseases occurred, only insects or diseased leaves and diseased plants were removed by hand, and orchid farmers at that time had never heard of the occurrence of "Bailas" at all. Bluegrass is green and luxuriant, and it is fragrant and distant when it blossoms. In the next 17 years, due to Taiwan's economic take-off, the development of science and technology was also changing with each passing day. Inorganic chemical fertilizers, growth regulatory hormones, and pesticides gradually replaced organic fertilizers for mass use, and there was no mountain soil in the plant materials. it was replaced by inorganic chemical fiber, cotton and foaming materials. Wait, wait, In the later stage of this stage, individuals saw that the generation of bluegrass in their own orchid house was getting weaker and weaker, and the plants and pots gradually withered and turned yellow because they were infected with "Bella silk." they did not use hormones or chemical fertilizers as quickly as they did in the initial stage, and the seedling rate also declined year by year. After paying a huge tuition fee for this painful experience, I made up my mind to learn from scratch, and finally developed "active soil" as a natural organic plant for cultivating blue bacteria. Since three or four years ago, we have returned to the traditional management method of orchid cultivation and improved the plant materials. no matter which orchid species it is, the plant materials are granular mountain soil, Taiwan Pushan stone (Tangshan stone) and active soil, but the proportion is different. Over the past three years, although I have purchased "fish essence fertilizer" and self-made soybean water and fertilizer, I have not yet used it, and I have not sprayed any pesticides to sterilize or disinfect it. However, my orchid house, whether it is native species or resale grass, is lush and lush. When it blossoms, it can emit wisps of fragrance, and I never see "Bailas" again. Postscript: recently, the post of returning to the grass Xinmiao infected with "Bailas", and the posts of "excuse me" and "call for help" on Lan.com are not uncommon, so that the heart that no longer wants to discuss the post is hesitant again. Finally, the heart of the orchid in the bottom of my heart still triumphed over the paranoia of myself, decided to publish once again the superficial view that the individual may not be recognized. If there is anything inappropriate, I hope you will give us your advice and advice.
