Bonsai knowledge: there is only a three-step distance between rotten tree stump and bonsai art.

All art is inseparable from concept. In fact, life is full of art, especially for people who like bonsai.

Do Taiwanese friends who like potted plants feel this way? A lot of times the bonsai material is good and I don't know how to get started.

Apart from lack of experience, this is because our minds do not outline the "landscape."

And "landscape" is often closely related to our "meaning."

Clay carving, for example, requires a "first purpose." After conception, blueprints are drawn, then clay is treated with art, and finally statues are made.

Miniature trees and bonsai are similar to sculpture, but they are also very different, because bonsai is life, and she is a living sculpture.

Second, miniature bonsai can certainly be "first", but in fact, more "visual material", facing a tangible form of tree blank idea, establishing theme and processing direction.

So the new question arises:

How to do a good job of "material-oriented"?

All in all, it's "three steps."

Step 1: Observe

First look at the whole tree and make a preliminary impression, then look at the key parts of the roots, trunks, branches and leaves, then re-examine the trees in front of them, look up and down, and get a deep impression.

Step 2: Think

According to the overall image of the tree and the characteristics of roots, stems, branches and leaves, several modeling schemes are outlined with pencils or brains.

Step 3: Case Study

Starting from hobbies, modeling is difficult to consider, make some comparisons, and finally make a decision to clarify the modeling model.

Peacock orchid tree blank modeling

This is a short peacock tree planted in mud.

After observation, the following evaluations were performed:

1。The tree is not tall.

2。root development

Three. The three rhizomes are roughly parallel, with straight lines and inclined curves.

4。The leaves are luxuriant and grow well.

This gives us an overall impression.

Therefore, we concluded that there are three dry, water and tree types.

After careful consideration, he decided to abandon the left side of the torso and leave the curve running on both sides.

For mini-creativity of bonsai, although it can be divided into multiple modeling models, its essence is to create an indefinite and informal style.

As the main object of landscape tree design, the coordination of roots, stems and branches determines the overall direction and theme intention of tree design. But the same askew dry trees, relying on artificial skills, are not necessarily "face water" or "cliffs." The same straight-stemmed tree does not necessarily have to be "big tree" or "stem" or "stem" style.

When my friends in Taiwan see the first two pictures, it is hard to believe that the mud tree and the semi-finished bonsai are on the same tree.

This demonstrates the importance of shaping the landscape and unleashing the magic of the three-step concept.
