Drought continues to spread in Northeast China. Some drought-stricken fields in Jilin have no harvest.
At present, during the critical period of the formation of autumn grain yield in Northeast China, the sustainable development of drought is very disadvantageous to crop production and development, so it is urgent to resist drought and protect autumn grain. The reporter learned from the video conference held by the Ministry of Agriculture a few days ago that drought in Northeast China is spreading, Liaoning, Jilin, and Inner Mongolia are more severely affected by drought, and Heilongjiang is less affected by drought. Among them, some of the drought-affected fields in Liaoning have dried up, while some of the drought-affected fields in Jilin have lost their harvest.
From July 1 to August 12, the average rainfall in Liaoning was 93.8 mm, 60% less than the same period of normal year, 70% less than the same period last year, and the least since complete meteorological records began in 1951. Corn is the main crop affected by the disaster, and the degree of disaster is mainly in western Liaoning. Some farmland in Dalian, Huludao, Chaoyang and other places are facing no harvest.
The latest satellite remote sensing monitoring data of Liaoning Province show that at present, farmland drought in Liaoning Province is mainly distributed in Shenyang, Dalian, Anshan, Huludao and other areas, with a drought area of about 30.1 million mu. According to the forecast of the meteorological department, the precipitation in mid-late August is still on the low side, and the scope of drought will further expand. If the drought changes from summer drought to continuous drought in summer and autumn, agricultural production will be greatly affected.
Since late July, rainfall in Jilin has continued to be on the low side, with the province's average precipitation of 39.4 mm, 65% less than that of the same period of the previous year, ranking second in history. The lack of precipitation has led to a serious drought in some areas. as of August 13, the drought area of crops in the province was 18.33 million mu, and the area of no harvest was 1.21 million mu. It is expected that in the next few days, the drought area will further expand, and the degree of drought will continue to aggravate.
Since mid-July, there has been high temperature and little rain in Inner Mongolia, with precipitation in many places the lowest in the same period since 1961, with more than 70% less precipitation. By the end of July, the area of crops affected by drought in the region was 18.95 million mu.
Since the first ten days of August, drought has occurred in Heilongjiang, the average precipitation in the province is nearly 50% less, and drought has occurred in 12 counties and cities.
The drought in Northeast China touches the hearts of people. "if the northeast is ripe, the world is full." The northeast region is a big granary in China, and the autumn grain output of the four provinces (regions) accounts for 1. 3% of the country's autumn grain output. If the grain in the northeast is stable, the grain in the whole country will be stable, and the grain production in the northeast will be increased, and the source of commercial grain will be guaranteed.
The northeast is fighting drought like a raging fire. The provincial finance of Liaoning allocated 70 million yuan for drought relief and raised the level of emergency response to drought from level 4 to level 3 on August 11. By August 12, the province had invested a total of 290 million yuan, mobilized 1.663 million people to fight drought, opened 198000 electromechanical wells, put in 246000 sets of drought-fighting mobile equipment, completed a drought-fighting area of 6.604 million mu, and temporarily solved the drinking water problem of 271600 people and 53,800 head of large livestock.
Jilin, Inner Mongolia, and Heilongjiang also took urgent action to hold agricultural drought relief deployment meetings, formulate drought relief measures, and spare no effort to do a good job in autumn grain field management and drought relief technical services. In order to fight the drought and protect the autumn harvest, the officers and men of the Jilin Provincial Frontier Defense Corps of the Armed Police and the local people jointly set up more than 30 "drought protection autumn harvest service teams" to fight the drought.
"there will be drought and waterlogging on July 15, and the harvest will be seen on August 15." Zeng Yande, director of the planting Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, said that from the perspective of agricultural regulation, the national market this year is slightly lighter than that of the same period in previous years, and the total area of crops affected by drought is slightly less than that of the same period in previous years. At present, with the spread of drought in Northeast China, it is necessary to follow up in time, do a good job in research and judgment, and come up with countermeasures.
Yu Xinrong, vice minister of the Ministry of Agriculture, said at a video conference on drought relief and autumn protection in Northeast China that it is necessary to take drought resistance and autumn protection as the top priority of agricultural production, and quickly set off an upsurge in drought relief. Drought relief does not stop for a day, and the losses caused by drought are minimized.
