Ginger is more expensive than pork. How to stop "conquering you"?
Recently, the price of ginger has been rising. On August 27, the reporter visited a number of supermarkets and farmers' markets in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province, and found that the retail price of ginger has already exceeded 10 yuan per jin. In Laiwu City, one of the main ginger producing areas in Shandong Province, the wholesale price of ginger reached about 8.5 yuan per jin on August 27.
The price is more expensive than pork, consumers do not buy it, merchants do not make money.
In Yonghui supermarket in Shijiazhuang, the price of old ginger is 18 yuan per kilogram, while the price of new ginger is as high as 28 yuan per kilogram. "A few days ago, I bought ginger at 16 yuan per kilogram in the market. Today, better ginger is more expensive than pork." Ms. Yan, the customer, said.
At Qiaoxi vegetable Wholesale Market in Shijiazhuang, the wholesale price of ginger on August 27 is 15 to 19 yuan per kilogram. Many people are "deterred". "after the Spring Festival, the price of ginger has gone up, from 7 yuan per kilogram to as low as 15 yuan per kilogram." Ms. Li, the merchant who sells ginger, said that the price of ginger is high, but fewer people buy it than before, so they don't make any money.
Such a market makes some farmers happy. The price of ginger was on the low side two years ago, but some ginger farmers stubbornly did not sell it and saved it in the cellar, and this year they really made a lot of money.
But for more Jiang farmers, no matter how good the price is, they can only "look at the price and sigh." What Wang Fengyong, a farmer in Zhaili Town, Laicheng District, Laiwu City, Shandong Province, regrets most now is that he could not help it at the beginning of the year and sold more than half of the ginger that had been stored in the cellar for nearly two years.
"We can't just look at the high price now. Growing ginger basically costs two years and earns one year. No one can tell what the price will be next year. " Some ginger farmers said.
The planting area of ginger in Shandong has decreased, and the yield per mu has decreased due to drought.
According to the analysis of the agricultural department of Laiwu City, the main reason for the rise in ginger prices is the relationship between supply and demand in the market. In 2010, ginger prices skyrocketed, causing farmers to grow ginger hot, which directly led to lower ginger prices in 2011 and 2012, and a sharp drop in farmers' enthusiasm for planting. In 2011, the planting area of ginger in Laiwu was 130000 mu, but it decreased to 90, 000 mu in 2013.
According to the analysis of the Shanxian Price Bureau of Shandong Province, in addition to the reduction of planting area due to low prices in the previous two years and the "poisonous ginger" incident in Weifang, the dry and rainless weather this year has also led to market expectations that ginger will not be productive after autumn. The hot weather in July and August generally increased the cost of logistics and storage of ginger by 0.5 won / jin. Moreover, the price of ginger has continued to rise since March this year, and some wholesalers have consciously hoarded ginger.
At the same time, the cost of growing ginger is also rising. Based on the situation this year, it is estimated that the cost of purchasing ginger seeds per mu of land will be at least 5,000 to 6,000 yuan, chemical fertilizers and pesticides will be about 1500 yuan, and the cost of sterilization of "smoked land" will be more than 3000 yuan.
As the new ginger will not be listed until after the October harvest, market analysis believes that before that, the market demand can only be met by inventory, the price of ginger is still under upward pressure, and the price of fresh ginger may fall after listing.
This round of ginger prices rise, the root cause is that farmers can not accurately grasp the market situation, can only follow the trend of blind planting. Experts suggest that it is necessary to build an information system for agricultural products, improve the information release mechanism, make effective use of some existing vegetable websites and other information means, and build an information communication platform among production, wholesale, retail, and so on. Guide farmers to plant reasonably and sell at the right time. Due to the large variety of agricultural products, scattered planting, long growth cycle, and the difficulty of rapid response of statistical data, it needs the joint efforts of the government, market participants and other parties.
