Difference and Control of soft Rot and Stem Rot of Orchid

In recent years, due to the change of climate and the rapid cultivation of high temperature and humidity caused by orchid seedling hormones, it has become more difficult to raise orchids. Orchids without certain facilities have suffered a lot of losses from soft rot and stem rot in the past two years. in order to let you know about these two biggest killers of orchids, I summarize the experience and some of my understanding of the orchid friends of the National Orchid Network as follows:

Soft rot: the disease begins with the new seedlings, characterized by the black, soft, smelly and pseudobulb soft rot of the grass from the inside to the outside, which is an acute disease.

Stem rot: the disease begins with the father or the previous generation, characterized by the grass gradually yellowing and withering from the outside to the inside, and the false bulbs yellowing and stiff, like a chronic disease.

Soft rot belongs to bacterial soft rot.

Protective fungicides: these fungicides can protect uninfected areas from pathogens, and spraying can only have an effect before crops come into contact with diseases or diseases, such as copper preparations (Bordeaux solution). Sulfur preparation (stone sulfur mixture), Dyson manganese, etc.

Eradication fungicides: this kind of agents can directly kill the bacteria before the invasion and treat the infected parts, often with disinfection effect. Such as using formalin to disinfect infected seeds.

Therapeutic fungicides: also known as endobiotic fungicides, these fungicides can prevent the development of germs in all parts of the plant after they are absorbed and transmitted by plants. Such as carbendazim, thiophanate, Chunramycin and so on.

Different kinds of fungicides are used differently according to the instructions.

Stem rot is a kind of service disease, which is caused by fungi. Therefore, with some fungicidal drugs, the effect is better! Like Amisida. Metalaxyl manganxin and Lou Zhu said part of the comprehensive use of drugs.

Stem rot is caused by fungi. Try Amisida. It works well.

Whether it is soft rot or stem rot is no specific cure, important or prevention-oriented, you can use 58% metalaxyl manganese to try. 1-600 times irrigation root spray leaves. Because metalaxyl manganin not only sterilizes but also protects.

As soon as you find that you have to open the order immediately and be willing to give it up, wrap up the infected orchid seedlings in plastic bags and throw them into the dustbin, and treat them like a doctor according to the above method!
