Jingjiang San Liu and Huilan Xie Pei

It is generally believed that Huilan Xiepei was selected by the surname Zhang of Shanghai at the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China. It is said that the earliest orchid work to record Xie Pei is Shangyu Feng Zicai's "continuation of Lanhui with one mind". In this orchid work, Mr. Feng describes the cymbidium: "Jianggao Jiepeimei, Chihui lotus-shaped daffodils. . The color is green, the edge is tight, the meat is thick, the shoulder is flat, the silkworm moth is as big as the tongue. When it blossoms, it grows bigger and bigger, and the good species are also good. " Xie Pei is deeply loved by orchid growers for his circular leaf posture, vigorous and beautiful flower appearance. It is known as Song Mei in Huilan. Xie Pei spread to Jingjiang in the 1920s. First, Liu Rongqiu, the owner of the bank, bought the Xiepi variety from the Wuxi Rong family at the price of "ten tons of rice and three seedlings" (not the mythical "one seedling of rice"). Unfortunately, during the Anti-Japanese War, the Japanese aggressors ransacked Jingjiang City, and Huilan Xiepei, raised by Liu Rongqiu, was also looted. Fortunately, Liu Xinzhi, the son of the boss of Jingjiang Yu Hengdang House (then an instructor of Jingjiang Stadium and later a PE teacher in Jingjiang County Middle School) introduced a pot of Xie Pei to Liu Rongqiu before the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War. When the Japanese devils plundered Jingjiang City, Liu Xinzhi gave up all his possessions, but fled everywhere with a few pots of beloved bluegrass, which made Huilan Xie Pei proudly preserved. After the victory of the Anti-Japanese War, Liu Xinzhi returned to Jingjiang to continue to cultivate Xiepi. Although Liu Xinzhi took good care of Xiepe in every way, due to various reasons, the number of Xiepei did not increase much until before the Cultural Revolution. In 1965, his brother Liu Luping, who was the principal of Chengbei Primary School in Jingjiang City, was organized to work in the people's Park of Jingjiang City. In winter, Liu Xinzhi asked Liu Luping to put Xie Pei in the people's Park for the winter. Liu Xinzhi knows that Liu Luping loves orchids for three years in a row. when the orchids come out of the room in the second spring, they give a total of 18 seedlings to Liu Luping out of personal friendship. Liu Luping gets the treasure and takes good care of it. Soon after, Liu Luping was appointed director of Jingjiang people's Park and presented the Xiepei given by his brother Liu Xinzhi to the park and opened up an orchid garden in the park to collect famous species. With the outbreak of the Cultural Revolution, orchids were listed as fragrant flowers and poisonous weeds and became the target of destruction by the Red Guards. In order to prevent Xiepei from being poisoned, Liu Luping hid the orchids in the park, and Xie Peimei survived. After the Cultural Revolution, Liu Luping reorganized the orchid garden in the park and trained florists. Before retiring in 1985, the orchid in Jingjiang people's Park had grown to a considerable scale. The total number of cymbidium, cymbidium and Jianlan reached 1410 pots, of which there were 331 pots of cymbidium. Most of them are Xiepei. On the other hand, the development speed of several pots of Xie Pei retained by Liu Xinzhi is relatively slow, and he was very concerned about those pots of orchids before he died in 1984. When Liu Luping went to visit his brother Liu Xinzhi on the sick bed, Mr. Xinzhi gave one of the pots of Xiepei6 Miao grass to his brother Liu Luping. In 1985, Liu Luping retired from the post of director of the people's Park and set up Yun Weilan Garden with his wife Sheng Yunyi, who had earlier retired at home. She carefully nurtured the Huilan Xiepei given by his brother Liu Xinzhi on his deathbed. A few years later, he spent 30,000 yuan to buy 100 seedlings in Jingjiang people's Park, and at the same time raised funds to buy back the famous spring cymbidium products from various orchid gardens in Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces. Due to the relatively rich experience in orchid cultivation, Yun Wei Orchid Garden has always adhered to the traditional method, using mountain and soil plants, self-made green organic fertilizer and natural environment (only after Frosts Descent to Grain Rain moved into the room to avoid the cold), such as Chunhui national orchid, orchid grass is strong, vigorous and famous. Up to now, Huilan Xiepei alone has about 400 pots of nearly 10,000 seedlings. After orchids have become flowers in Jingjiang City, the ranks of orchids are growing, and now there are more than 100 orchid gardens in Jingjiang. In Jingjiang, those who raise orchids must first cultivate Xiepei, and Huilan Xiepei has become the head of Jingjiang Orchid Garden. The history of Huilan Xie Pei showing her appearance to the world for nearly a hundred years is closely related to the history of the Chinese nation for nearly a hundred years.
