Cut a branch from the triangulated plum mother plant, and then use it for cutting cultivation, many flower friends have tried, many have failed, the branches are easy to rot, rooting failure, this is why? Do you have any skills?

1. Cut off a branch

Cut annual branches, preferably strong branches at the bottom, with a length of about 10 to 15 centimeters, and you can't cut the branches at the top of triangular plums, and they are prickly after flowering, so be careful.

2. Remove the extra leaves

Cut off most of the leaves, leave two leaves at the top, clean up the leaves near the bottom, and don't leave the flowers.

The cut branches can be divided into segments, each with a length of 10 to 15 centimeters.

3. Treatment of growth nodes

The cutting branch should pay attention to the place where it takes root, that is, the growth node, and the cut branch should be at the node, so that it has room to heal. The node of the branch below is at the bottom, and you can see it at a glance.

The node is in the position of the lump of the paper, just like the node of bamboo, the cut is cut into a 45-degree angle, and the cutting should be dipped with rooting powder before cutting to promote rooting, which can also be sterilized and prevent cutting rot.

4. Preparation of cuttings

The cultivation soil should be prepared before cutting, and the soil should be watered and watered before cutting. Triangulated plum branches should not be planted at an angle of 90 degrees when cutting in the soil, but should be tilted slightly to an angle of 45 to 60 degrees, which will help to take root.

5. Post-cutting treatment.

After that, put the cut flowerpot in a shaded and ventilated place (bright light) to keep the soil slightly moist. You can put a plastic film on it and ventilate it properly for three hours a day.

6. Waiting for germination

The branches of the cuttings usually germinate in about 6-10 weeks. Wait patiently.

7. When will it be transplanted?

After the branches send out small buds, you can no longer cover the bag, but slowly let it see the light, scatter the light, and have about 4 hours of light every day.

When the branch grows to 4 or 6 leaves (usually about 3 months), it will be transplanted, of course, transplant with soil, be careful not to hurt the root, it does not mean that you have succeeded!

Leafy branches usually take root, but you can't pull them up unless you cut a lot of branches.

8. Maintenance after transplanting

After almost four months of cuttings, their roots have grown so strong that they don't have to worry about their sudden death.

They have adapted to the new environment after transplanting, very small branches can give birth to florets, although not too bright, but very small stems can grow. (get rid of the residual flowers after blooming)

According to the above method, not only can you get more triangular plum potted plants, but also you can propagate extra plum plants and give them to flower friends.

Tips:

Triangular plum is cold-resistant (compared with other tropical plants), drought-resistant and barren, so don't always water it, too much water is not good for flowering.

The size of the flowerpot should be changed slowly as the cutting branches grow stronger and stronger, do not use a large pot at once, it is easy to rot the root.

Wear gloves when using rooting powder or pruning branches. Triangular plum branches have spines.
