Before and after the Mid-Autumn Festival, kiwifruit is fresh on the market. The reporter visited the market in recent days and found that there is a large gap in the price of kiwifruit. The cheapest is only about 3 yuan per catty, while the most expensive one is as high as 100 yuan per catty. How did such a large price difference come from?

Kiwifruit is very expensive and is mostly sold individually.

1.9 yuan, 2.7 yuan, 3.5 yuan. Yesterday, the fruit area of a supermarket in Daxigou was lined up with kiwifruit. However, if you take a closer look, the marked prices of kiwifruit are all sold according to "individual". According to the calculation, the average price per jin is more than 7 yuan, and some of the ones that sell well are as high as 50 or 60 yuan.

"I bought three, except for the change which is exactly 20 yuan." Aunt Tian calculated that the average kiwifruit she bought cost more than 6 yuan, which cost more than 50 yuan per jin.

However, at several fruit stalls in Xuetian Bay, Yuzhong District, kiwifruit is mostly sold by jin. "Local kiwifruit is cheaper, and those soft ones are the cheapest, 3.5 yuan per jin. You can eat them right away." One vendor said that the most expensive are the targeted New Zealand kiwi fruits, which cost 55 jin and are relatively hard. They need to go home and "put them with apples" for a few days before eating them.

According to the fruit stalls and supermarkets visited by a reporter from Chongqing Morning Post, the lowest price of kiwifruit is only 3 yuan per jin and the highest is 65 yuan. On a case-by-case basis, the cheapest ones cost about 1.5 yuan each, and the most expensive ones sell for nearly 8 yuan each.

Local products are cheap and non-local ones are expensive

"our kiwifruit hearts will be shipped from September 1st. The price is 99 yuan for 5 jin before booking." The owner of a fruit e-commerce store in Jiangbei said that they sell kiwifruit from Cangxi, Sichuan Province. "it's less than 20 yuan a jin, and it's delivered to your door, which is very popular." The reporter saw in the physical store that the average price of Cangxi Hongxin kiwifruit is about 35 yuan per jin.

Compared with kiwifruit from other places, the price of local kiwifruit is much cheaper. It is understood that Wanzhou, Qianjiang and Wansheng in Chongqing all produce kiwifruit, but the price is not expensive, a few yuan per jin.

In a supermarket in Qianchangkou, the promoters highly recommended kiwifruit from New Zealand, but the price of this kiwifruit, called kiwifruit, is not cheap either. A jin of kiwifruit with a green heart costs more than 60 yuan, while a yellow one sells for nearly 10 yuan, which is calculated to be as high as nearly 100 yuan a jin.

Why is there such a big price difference among local, non-local and foreign kiwifruit? The vendor explained that it was because of the difference in taste and appearance. Local kiwifruit tastes bad, while kiwifruit from Sichuan Cangxi and Shaanxi is dominant in taste and size, while imported kiwifruit sells at a higher price with a better taste.

However, some imported fruit merchants revealed that not all New Zealand kiwi fruits on the market are actually imported, and many of them are domestic products dressed in a gilded coat.
