Recently, the Ministry of Agriculture reported that Qingdao Nuodi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Qingdao Nuodi) and Jiangxi Hailian Animal Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Jiangxi Hailian) were suspected of producing and selling fake and shoddy veterinary drugs. Jiangxi Hailian case is the country's first case in which a veterinary drug was added to lean meat, and the main criminal suspect was sentenced to life imprisonment at first instance. In recent years, the agricultural and public security departments have continuously improved the working mechanism of inter-departmental cooperation, strengthened cooperation in handling cases, and made joint efforts to crack down on illegal activities of veterinary drugs, and achieved good results.

Qingdao Nuodi is suspected of producing fake and shoddy veterinary drugs. In October 2012, according to the report, Shandong Provincial Public Security Bureau, Shandong Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Bureau, together with Qingdao Public Security Bureau, conducted a surprise inspection on Qingdao Nuodi, and seized fake production lines, suspected fake and shoddy veterinary drug raw materials and semi-finished products, suspected counterfeit registered trademark marks, drug labels, and so on. It has been determined that 79 kinds of veterinary drugs produced by Nuodi in Qingdao are fake veterinary drugs, and the apramycin sulfate produced is unqualified veterinary drugs. the total value of the above-mentioned veterinary drugs produced and sold is more than 1.5 million yuan. The court of first instance held that eight defendants, including Qingdao Nuodi and Wang Mou, constituted the crime of producing and selling fake and shoddy products.

Jiangxi Hailian is suspected of producing and selling fake and shoddy veterinary drugs. In April 2013, on the basis of the preliminary work of the Ministry of Agriculture of Zhejiang Province, and after investigation by public security organs in accordance with the law, seven products produced and sold by Jiangxi Hailian, such as Fei Hu Xiong Yan Kang, illegally added cloprenaline hydrochloride, Xinniu sheep Jinzun and other 2 products illegally added Galibavirin, severe kill, 4 products without veterinary drug product approval number, silver yellow virus interferon and other 20 products changed the product group without authorization to add other ingredients. The amount of money involved is as high as more than 10 million yuan. The court of first instance held that the five defendants were guilty of producing and selling fake and shoddy products.

In the face of the current situation of quality and safety of veterinary drugs, the Ministry of Agriculture reiterated that the competent veterinary departments at all levels should further strengthen the supervision of veterinary drugs and take the implementation of the notice of heavier punishment for illegal acts of veterinary drugs (Ministry of Agriculture notice No. 2071) as an opportunity to carry out in-depth regulation of the veterinary drug market, strengthen the supervision and law enforcement of veterinary drugs, persist in fighting as soon as they appear, and always maintain a high-pressure situation. We should strengthen supervision and random inspection, carry out "joint inspection and crackdown", ensure that "spot checks in one place, investigation and punishment throughout the country," severely crack down on illegal addition, counterfeiting, sales, and other illegal acts, cut off the illegal chain of interests, and make fake and shoddy veterinary drugs have nowhere to hide.
