Last Updated: 2024/09/16, According to the monitoring and analysis of the Ministry of Agriculture, although the overall growth of grassland vegetation in August this year is slightly worse than that of the previous year, it is more preferred than in the same period of the previous year, and the drought in some grasslands has been alleviated. Compared with the same period last year, 20% of the grassland vegetation growth preference in the country.

According to the monitoring and analysis of the Ministry of Agriculture, although the overall growth of grassland vegetation in August this year is slightly worse than that of the previous year, it is more preferred than in the same period of the previous year, and the drought in some grasslands has been alleviated. Compared with the same period last year, 20% of the country's grassland vegetation growth preference, 45% of the grassland vegetation growth status is flat, 35% of the grassland vegetation growth status deviation; compared with the same period in the past five years, 79% of the national grassland vegetation growth status preference or flat, 21% of the grassland vegetation growth status deviation.

From a regional point of view, the areas of vegetation growth preference are mainly distributed in the northeast of Inner Mongolia, central Gansu, most of Ningxia and most of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, while the areas of vegetation growth deviation are mainly distributed in central Inner Mongolia, northern Xinjiang, northwest Sichuan and other places.

From the perspective of the main pastoral areas, the growth of vegetation in Hulunbuir City in the eastern part of Inner Mongolia grassland is good; the vegetation coverage, height and grass yield in Xilingol League and Wulanchabu City in the central part of Inner Mongolia grassland are lower than that in the previous year; the drought in the western grassland has been alleviated, and the growth status of forage grass in Alashan League is basically the same as the previous year. In addition to good vegetation in Hami and Turpan areas, the overall growth of vegetation in Xinjiang grasslands is poor. Although the drought in Yili and other northern Xinjiang grasslands has been alleviated, the forage yield has decreased by about 20% compared with the previous year. The grassland in Qinghai mainly had a flat preference, especially in late August, the proportion of vegetation growth preference increased greatly, and the forage yield increased by 20.3% in the southeast of Qinghai, most of Haibei and the eastern part of Hercynian. The growth of grassland vegetation in most areas of Xizang grassland is good except that some areas in the west of Naqu and western Ali are the same or slightly worse than that of the previous year. The overall vegetation growth of Sichuan grassland was slightly worse than that of the previous year, in which the vegetation height and grass yield decreased in the north of Ganzi Prefecture, Hongyuan and Ruoergai in Aba Prefecture. The growth status of most grassland vegetation in Gansu is the same as that of the previous year, and the forage yield of grassland in the east of Hexi Corridor and the south of Subei is obvious.

According to the forecast of climate trend, in September, the temperature in most grasslands across the country is close to the same period of the year or on the high side, the distribution of precipitation is uneven, there is less precipitation in central and southern Inner Mongolia, and the drought in some areas may continue. The Ministry of Agriculture has asked all localities to reasonably arrange animal husbandry production and do a good job in forage reserve and transportation according to the current forage growth situation. At the same time, with the accelerated withering and yellowing of grass in the northern grasslands and the increased risk of grassland fire, all localities should effectively strengthen the grassland fire prevention work and take precautions.
