Effects of nutrient elements in Fertilizer on the growth of Orchid

(1) nitrogen

Nitrogen is the component of plant protein, chlorophyll and enzyme, and the vitamins, hormones and alkaloids of plant also contain nitrogen. When the nitrogen supply is sufficient, the orchid has luxuriant leaves, dark green leaves and strong growth. When nitrogen is insufficient, the plants will be short. The lower leaves first lack green and turn yellow, then gradually expand upward, the leaves are thin and small, and the growth is slow. When there is too much nitrogen, the plant will grow excessively, lodge easily and be infected with diseases and insect pests.

(II) phosphorus

Phosphorus is a component of plant nuclei and enzymes, which can promote cell division, promote root development, blossom early and enhance the drought and cold resistance of orchids. Due to phosphorus deficiency, the plant was dark green from the old leaves, and the stems and leaves were purplish red. After that, the leaves yellowed and fell off easily, the root system developed poorly and the seed setting rate was low.

(3) potassium

Potassium mainly participates in plant metabolism and plays a regulatory role, which can promote the formation of chlorophyll and photosynthesis, make flower growth strong, stem tough, not easy to lodge, and enhance disease resistance and cold tolerance. When potassium deficiency occurs, the old leaves appear yellow, brown or purple spots, the leaf tips wither and scorch curl downward, and the leaves turn yellow from the edge to the center, but the veins are still green.
