Although in recent years, local governments have proposed to vigorously develop modern animal husbandry, the author found that in the process of developing modern animal husbandry, grass-roots animal husbandry departments generally encountered the following three problems:

Most farming lacks standardization and scale, generally buys frame livestock from other places and sells them after short-term fattening, the local livestock source is very limited, the proportion of female livestock is low, the construction of improved breed breeding system lags behind, and the breeding scale can not adapt to the rapid development of fattening industry. as a result, the problem of livestock shortage is more prominent. Second, animal products processing enterprises generally have the characteristics of small scale, low level, low scientific and technological content, short industrial chain, and so on. Most animal products can only be exported as raw materials or primary processed products, and can not be processed deeply; professional animal husbandry cooperation organizations are still in the initial stage, driving capacity is weak; livestock products brand construction seriously lags behind, lack of leading enterprises in animal husbandry industrialization. Third, the level, capacity, means and related instruments and facilities for monitoring the quality and safety of animal products are lagging behind.

The author puts forward some suggestions on how to develop modern animal husbandry.

First, it is necessary to accelerate the transformation of the mode of production of animal husbandry. To strengthen the promotion of standardized modern animal husbandry production mode, especially to strengthen the construction of improved variety breeding and promotion system and the support of standardized scale breeding. Third, the quality and safety monitoring of animal products should be strengthened.
