Last Updated: 2024/11/08, A few days ago, the European Union formally implemented a new agricultural residue limit standard for tea exported to the European Union. The new standard mainly involves four pesticide residue indicators, including isoproturon, acetamidol, pyrimidine and acetamiprid, which are all twice as high as the original standard, and the content has changed from 0.1ppm to acetamiprid.

A few days ago, the European Union formally implemented a new agricultural residue limit standard for tea exported to the European Union. The new standard mainly involves four pesticide residue indexes, including isoproturon, acetamiprid, pyrimidine and acetamiprid, which are twice as high as the original standard, and the content changes from 0.1ppm to 0.05ppm. In addition, the detection of azafenamide residues was added to Chinese tea.

Pesticide residues are the weakness of tea export enterprises. Data show that China's tea exports to Europe this year have been notified by the European Union in 18 batches, agricultural residues exceeding the standard is the main reason. According to experts, the use of pesticides for pest control is a common practice in agricultural production in almost all countries, and agricultural products that do not use chemical pesticides account for only 3% or 5% of the total. China exports tea mainly in summer and autumn, and there are many diseases and insect pests in hot weather, and pesticide residues are unavoidable. Will Anhui, as a major exporter of green tea, be affected by this new regulation?

"what we implement is order production, which has no impact on tea farmers for the time being. Thanks to the model of co-creating base development with local leading enterprises, the standards for tea plantation cultivation have been greatly improved several years ago, including the control of agricultural residues. " Kuang Guo, president of the professional cooperative for famous and high-quality tea in Lu'an City, said that the enterprise has special technicians to supervise the tea garden for a long time and strictly control the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides in the process of planting and production.

"our company has been buying tea bases in recent years in response to increasingly stringent export standards." Ye Hui of Anhui Xiuning Songluo Tea Company told reporters that the new standards have a certain impact on their company's tea exports. The quality of tea grown and produced in the cooperative base can be controlled, but it is difficult to control the tea raw materials collected from other suppliers. On the one hand, they vigorously promote the standards of agricultural residues with tea farmers, asking them to use biological pesticides as far as possible and put an end to the use of zolacimide; on the other hand, they ask third-party testing institutions to carry out quality control to strictly control the quality of tea from suppliers. However, due to the large annual export volume, reaching 300 to 400 tons of finished tea, it is difficult to meet the market demand by relying solely on the production of the base.

"this is a good thing and can attract the attention of government departments and many other aspects." Fang Guoqiang, chairman of the Anhui Xin Anyuan Tea Farmers' Professional Cooperative, said that they produce and export organic tea, and the relevant agricultural residue standards are far above this standard, and the indicators are more stringent. So at present, exports have not been affected. Take their cooperative as an example, they have their own organic tea garden base, with 30,000 mu of tea garden in the core area and 50,000 mu of radiation tea garden. All tea gardens adopt the cooperative model to manage products and provide pesticides uniformly. Cooperatives effectively control the quality of products.

"in order to solve the problem of agricultural residues, the state should manage it from the source. For tea production enterprises, we can only do our part, those who can meet the standards will export more, and those who cannot meet the standards will export less. " Yin Tianyi, chairman of Anhui Guorun Tea Co., Ltd., said that the export of agricultural residues is already the most terminal link in the tea industry chain, and there is no great significance in doing any article on this link. If we can force the domestic standardization of tea production and prohibit the production and circulation of non-standard pesticides from the source through the rising technical threshold of foreign countries, only in this way can we completely put an end to the problem of agricultural residues.

Since the implementation of the new agricultural residue limit standard for tea in the European Union in 2000, it has been revised almost every year. Tea enterprises and relevant departments in our province should adapt to the ever-changing international agricultural residue testing standards and adapt to these rules as soon as possible. " Dr. Yang Qiuyun, a teacher in the Tea Department of Anhui Agricultural University, said that the European Union uses technical trade barriers to reduce the export volume of Chinese tea. On the one hand, the relevant government departments should respond and safeguard their rights. On the other hand, we should vigorously promote pollution-free or organic tea production to Chinese tea producers.
