At present, autumn grain crops in most parts of the country have entered the harvest period one after another, but double cropping late rice in South China and Jiangnan and single cropping late rice in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River are in the heading filling stage, which is the key period of yield formation. it is also an important period for the occurrence and damage of diseases and insect pests at panicle stage. In particular, the climate of "not cool in late autumn" appears in some areas this autumn, which may lead to an increase in the generation of late rice "two migration" pests, prolong the damage time, and easily lead to sudden disasters. In the later stage, the prevention and control of diseases and insect pests should not be relaxed.

In this regard, the Ministry of Agriculture requires the agricultural departments at all levels in the relevant regions to continue to do a good job in the prevention and control of diseases and pests of late rice and strive to ensure a bumper harvest. First, strengthen monitoring and early warning. Comprehensively carry out a general survey of the insect situation, so that "the bottom number is clear and the situation is clear", accurately grasp the dynamics of occurrence and development, define key prevention and control fields and key prevention and control periods; second, strengthen emergency prevention and control. Give prominence to key areas and reissue land blocks, take measures that combine professional unified prevention and control with mass prevention and control, timely carry out emergency prevention and control, and strictly prevent disasters; third, strengthen supervision and inspection. Strictly implement the supervision and inspection system, organize itinerant guidance of experts, ensure that prevention and control measures are in place, technical measures are implemented in rice fields, and go all out to ensure a bumper harvest.
