A brief Analysis of the slow emergence of Cold Orchid

Although Han Lan is the youngest in the Guolan family, it is attracting more and more orchid lovers because of its beautiful leaf shape and elegant flower pattern. At present, the biggest bottleneck hindering the development of Hanlan is the low seedling rate of Hanlan. Cold orchid grows slowly, which is the consensus of all orchid friends, and it is also the main reason why cold orchid is difficult to raise, as many orchid friends say. The following is a simple analysis of several reasons for the slow emergence of cold orchid seedlings in combination with the growth environment and the physiological habits of cold orchid.
A growing environment
I have been picking orchids in the mountains for many years, because the local cold orchids are rich in resources, mainly collecting cold orchids, so I know a thing or two about the growing environment of cold orchids. Cold orchids generally grow in dense evergreen broad-leaved forests or mixed bamboo forests, and most of them grow in the lower section of the hillside, rarely on the top of the mountain. Such an environment determines that Hanlan has less chance of receiving light. Although the leaves of Han orchid are relatively broad, but because they grow in deep mountains and dense forests, the photosynthesis of the leaves is still very little, and the photosynthates are less. The accumulation of organic matter is not much, of course, germination will be limited. It is this kind of environment that creates the green and glossy leaves of cold orchid. Even after Han Lan goes down the mountain, we can't stimulate the germination potential of Han Cymbidium by increasing light, because Xi Yin is a characteristic of Han Cymbidium species. We can't sacrifice the beautiful appearance of Hanlan in order to pursue the germination rate-the bright leaves, and it should be possible to increase some light appropriately, but if it goes too far, not only the leaves of Hanlan will be damaged and the leaves will turn yellow, but it may also cause the physiological function disorder of Hanlan, even the dead seedlings, and the loss outweighs the gain. Cold orchid requires a higher degree of shade, which is also the consensus of orchid friends.
Second flowering
Cold orchid is a frequently flowered orchid species, and more than one pole flowers, flower varieties such as big leaf cold orchid can sometimes open more than a dozen. The big-leaf cold orchid can generally blossom in about three or four seedlings, and the fine-leaf cold orchid can also see flowers in two or three seedlings. It is also common to have two arrows on the same seedling, and the cold orchid florescence is long. It is because of this that only a little photosynthate in Hanlan is almost consumed when it blossoms. Where can there be more nutrients to provide multiple seedlings?
Third flowering stage
The florescence of Han orchid is mostly concentrated in autumn and winter. As far as the local area is concerned (Yifeng, Jiangxi), most of the orchids bloom from late October to November every year, and most of them bloom from late November to December every year, and of course some bloom earlier and later. And this period of time is a good time for all things to recuperate, but Han Lan is still struggling to offer the last fragrance for people. Here, let's straighten out the growth process of Han orchid for a year: take the big leaf orchid as an example, leaf buds will be unearthed one after another from mid-late May to early June, and flower buds will also be unearthed from mid-late August to early September every year. (leaf buds were unearthed in most cases, and a few were unearthed earlier or later.) If flower buds have been differentiated for about a month before they are unearthed (when the temperature of flower bud differentiation is slightly higher, the differentiation will be faster, and the time of leaf bud differentiation should be longer, because the temperature during that period is relatively low and the growth is slower). Then the flower bud differentiation of Hanlan should be around July every year. In this way, the growth process of the cold orchid comes out: when the temperature rises slowly after the beginning of spring to May and June, the leaf buds of the cold orchid begin to differentiate slowly until they are unearthed; then the flower buds begin to differentiate again in July, and the flower buds are unearthed one after another in August and September. The flower stalks continue to grow in 1990 and blossom one after another after October, until Xiehua enters winter dormancy.
Hanlan ah Hanlan, in the growing season of the year, you keep working, raising your children with what little nutrients you have, and dedicating your last bit to mankind when you are about to enter a good time of winter rest and recuperation. In the cold winter day, in the blue sea, we feel your fragrance again and again, but also feel your motherly strength and greatness!
Of course, there are not only a few factors that affect the low germination rate of cold orchid, but also need to be discovered, studied and discussed constantly. To break through the bottleneck of the low seedling rate of Han Lan is the pursuit and expectation of every Han Lan enthusiast!
The above point of view is purely a family's point of view, related to each growth period, date, is limited to the local or this orchid garden, does not represent other cold orchid producing areas.
