Last Updated: 2024/11/06, Gardenia mainly grows in the south. If you want to raise it well in the north, you should give it suitable conditions in soil, temperature, light, fertilization, watering and so on. Soil to choose acidic soil, and contains a lot of humus, water permeability is better; it is best to put it in a place with sufficient light, long light time, and control the temperature in 20 to 25 ℃, low temperature should take measures to avoid freezing, high temperature should be timely ventilation, cooling; it likes flood, does not like fertilizer, so watering every three days, applying rotten fertilizer every ten days can meet its demand for water and fertilizer.

1. Soil

Gardenia likes the acidic environment, so the soil must be acidic, avoid alkaline. The cultivated loam can be mixed with rotten leaf soil, vegetable garden soil, rotten soil and river sand in the proportion of 4-4-1-1-1, but its air permeability and water permeability must be ensured.

2. Temperature

The best temperature for its growth and development is between 20 and 25 ℃. It can endure a low temperature of-3 ℃, but it should not be kept for a long time, otherwise it will cause frostbite. When the temperature is higher than 15 ℃, the window should be opened in time to relieve the dryness and heat, so as to facilitate its subsequent growth and flowering.

3. Lighting

Its growth environment is generally very bright, especially in spring and autumn, it should be guaranteed to receive at least 8 hours of sunshine every day, otherwise it will be extremely disadvantageous to its overwintering and growth. But in the hot summer sun, to avoid strong light exposure, it is best to put it in a place of astigmatism maintenance, after winter and then transferred to the direct sunlight breeding.

4. Fertilization

It does not like fertilizer, but it also needs to replenish fertilizer regularly, stop watering the day before fertilizer is applied, apply rotten fertilizer once every ten days, water again after fertilizer is applied, and basically stop applying fertilizer in mid-September.

5. Watering

Spring and autumn is relatively dry, so that it can be watered every three days, while in summer, it is about two o'clock in the afternoon when the temperature drops. Watering should be controlled in winter and then watered when the basin soil is dry.
