It is mainly responsible for fishery administration management and conservation of aquatic biological resources in related basins, important waters and border water areas south of the Yellow River Basin. It covers the Yangtze River, Pearl River, Yarlung Zangbo River, Huai River, Lancang River, Nujiang River, Minjiang River, Qiantang River and border waters, as well as Poyang Lake, Dongting Lake, Taihu Lake, Namucuo Lake, Chaohu Lake and other lakes.
