■ Chronicle [IX. Exploration of Langen]

I haven't turned the basin for two years. Usually, they are still selectively observed, sometimes even in summer and summer. However, most of the potted grass turned in the summer are diseased grass or common grass, so that the root of the bluegrass can be held at any time. Judging from the orchid root dug up in a large area this time, the orchid root is quite a lot, and it is not short, but it is still not ideal, mainly because the root tip does not grow well. First, the root appears thinner when it reaches the root tip, and second, there are few crystal heads in the root, and the root tip forms a little bit. There are signs of stagnation. The main reason for the analysis is that the lower part of the plant is thicker in the process of preparation, the lower root is difficult to expand, and the fertilizer appears to be slightly larger as the upper part, which is disadvantageous to the preservation of the lower root.

Perhaps it is too early to turn the basin, the secondary root growth has not yet begun, maybe there is something wrong with some link, the secondary root growth can not be formed. In short, the root of the orchid is good or bad, we can not only see the root, but also see the quality of the root.

What kind of Langen is the ideal root? It is believed that: first, the number of roots is normal and grows relatively vertically downward; second, there is less root loss; third, the thickness of the whole root is basically the same; fourth, there are more crystal heads in the root; fifth, the old root is yellowish, and the new root is tender and white; sixth, the number of new roots can exceed that of the old grass; seventh, the secondary root grows normally; eighth, the root length is not short; ninth, the root and the plant do not damage the epidermis; tenth, the number of root regeneration is more.

In order to achieve the above ten points, this bluegrass can be regarded as in place. However, in the process of practice, there are often unexpected things that lead to poor development and even root loss of Langen. Now I would like to talk about some of my own experience on the reasons why Langen does not grow well.

A small number of orchid roots are mostly caused by excessive fertilizer or water; early root withdrawal of old grass is often a sign of poor growth of new grass; thick and thin orchid roots are related to lack of fertilizer and water; less crystal heads in roots indicate that orchid grass is lagging and is caused by aging of plants or obstruction of ventilation or slightly less moisture; local blackening or discoloration of orchid roots is caused by excessive fat and water or susceptible bacteria; the absence of new roots is related to improper control of fertilizer and water or excessive dryness on the surface. The secondary root growth period is mostly in autumn, so it is necessary to pay attention to the fact that autumn is not dry; thick and short roots are basically caused by excessive fertilizer; root tip damage is related to rough plant material; root cutting is caused by improper cleaning or excessive water and fertilizer when turning the basin.

The Quran book has the discussion of cutting off or shortening too many and too long oranges when turning the basin. It is easy to understand that cutting off too many old roots to make room for new roots is easier to understand, while the practice of shortening most of the long orchid roots is somewhat difficult to understand. In practice, the excessively long Langen has always been afraid to be cut off, but it was only when it was too long that it had the heart to cut it. (2006-09-28)
