Spring and autumn is a very suitable season for sowing. Have you learned the techniques of sowing? The following is to share with you how to sow seeds quickly, simply and easily, which I have used for several years. It can increase the seed germination rate by 70% and make the seed germination time twice as fast as the usual method.

This is very different from the traditional sowing method. You can experiment with some simple vegetable seeds. I will teach you some details below.

Step 1: prepare the tool

Make my own beautiful sowing calendar, in which the sowing time, germination time and germination rate of each plant will be recorded. I like to do this, and I can ignore it if I find it troublesome.

First prepare the sowing tools, some seedling pots, seeds, tissue box seedling soil, and so on.

Step 2: promote hair root

This method is very simple, and I believe every flower friend who has the ability to do it can do it.

First put a tissue on the bottom of the shallow basin, add clean water, know that the paper towel is completely wet (do not want the kind of paper towels that dissolve too easily), spread the seeds evenly in the wet paper towels, cover, and then put them in a shady and ventilated place.

Here I use the seeds of cauliflower and kale as a demonstration, vegetable seeds are particularly easy to germinate.

Step 3: check the seeds

Check every day from the next day. If you happen to buy fresh vegetable seeds, they will germinate in two days. Look at wet paper towels every day. If dry, replenish them and keep them moist.

The seeds of cauliflower, kale and cauliflower box lettuce I use are all the fastest to germinate.

Similar to tomatoes, beets, pumpkins and onions, it takes only three days to germinate in this way, and it takes only five days for the most difficult chili, eggplant and fennel box celery to germinate.

(it's a bit like a box lunch)

Then you can prepare the seedling soil and pot. When you see the seeds of the wet paper towels sprouting, they will be taken out and planted immediately. If the roots of the seeds grow a little longer, it will be very difficult for you to take them out of the paper towels.

Step 4: transplant seedlings

If your fingers are big, you will find it difficult to pick up the seeds. At this time, you need a small tweezer, which will make the sowing long and meticulous. I use plastic tweezers.

I plant two seedlings in each small pot, and when I grow to a certain extent, I get rid of the weak one, and then I spray the soil every day (the seeds are covered with soil, which is about three times as thick as the seeds) to keep the soil slightly moist.

Within a few days, the green leaves of the seeds will emerge from the soil, and it is time to give them enough scattered light to make them strong.

Fifth: what are the advantages of this method?

The success rate is very high. Have you ever sowed a lot of seeds and found only a few sprouts?

Can try this method, I use this method of seed germination rate is very high, vegetable seeds are basically more than 90% germination, if it is fresh seeds, the germination must be 100%.

Sixth: old seed sowing

If you are going to sow some seeds that have been kept for a long time, you can also test them in this way to see if they can still germinate. In general, it will be very difficult for seeds to germinate after more than 2 or 3 years.

1. Store seeds:

Every time I buy some flowers and vegetables, and then I can't sow them all at once, how can I keep the rest? Of course, keep it in a cool and dry place, which can prolong the fresh life of the seeds and prolong their life.

2. Sowing speed of wet paper towels:

I have experimented with fresh cabbage seeds. It takes only 1 to 2 days to take root, and the leaves will sprout in another two days. Compared with sowing directly in the soil, the time is 2 or 3 times faster.

For small-scale sowing, you can choose my method, divide the wet paper towels with a pen and record them well, so that they will not be messed up in the future.

Of course, some seeds grow faster directly in the soil, including arugula, radish and carrot, which are not suitable for rooting in this way.

3. Disadvantages:

This method also has a disadvantage, that is to transplant in time, which is not suitable for flower friends who do not have time to check the rooting of seeds often.

Because if you wait for the root of the seed to grow a little longer, the root system will grow into the wet paper towel, making it difficult to separate, so you must transplant the seed as soon as it takes root.

Seventh: tips for sowing seeds

The seedlings sown by some flower friends are easy to grow out, but they can't be raised and die soon. Why?

Spray must be used when replenishing water two weeks before sowing and sprouting, not even watering, because these seedlings are so fragile that a little drop of water is easy to make them lodge and can't grow up.

When your seedlings grow small leaves, you must begin to see the light, otherwise the seedlings will only grow, tall or not, and will soon wither.
