Small formula of orchid plant material
Small formula of orchid planting material
Plant material is the material basis for orchids to survive, and it is also one of the factors to promote more buds, vigorous roots and strong seedlings. The following is a description of the formula that has been tested and verified by the author to be suitable for different orchids.
Formula 1: mushroom soil 70%, chaff charcoal 20%, coarse river sand 10%, and bone charcoal 10%(this formula is suitable for planting spring orchid, cymbidium).
Formula 2: 40% chaff charcoal, 30% mushroom soil, 10% red brick grain, 10% coarse river sand, 10% burnt soil, and 10% bone charcoal (this formula is suitable for planting cold orchid).
Formula 3: red brick 30%, coarse river sand 20%, chaff charcoal 30%, mushroom soil 20%, plus a small amount of dried cow dung and bone charcoal (this formula is suitable for planting Cymbidium, Cymbidium).
Formula 4: chaff charcoal 40%, mushroom soil 20%, red brick grain 10%, coarse river sand 10%, cinder 10%, dried cow dung 10%(this formula is suitable for cultivating Ye Yilan).
Mushroom soil is loose and breathable, light in quality and permeable to water, moderate in nutrients, which can make orchid buds more, roots flourish and seedlings strong; chaff contains various ash elements and other trace elements, mainly potassium, which is conducive to rooting; bone char is rich in phosphorus, fertilizer is not violent, fertilizer efficiency lasts for a long time; cinder contains minerals; red brick particles have many pores and have good drainage and water retention performance.
