According to the latest monitoring data from Xinhua (Daqing) International Petroleum Information Center, China's green food consumer price index was 103.12 in September 2014, down 0.18% from the previous month. Overall, due to the relatively abundant supply of agricultural products during the harvest season and other factors, the decline in vegetable prices is the main reason for the slight decline in China's green food consumer price index.

According to the main categories, during the reporting period, the consumer price index of vegetables decreased by 8.77%, the consumer price index of grain and oil increased by 0.47%, the consumer price index of meat, poultry and eggs decreased by 0.17%, and the consumer price index of aquatic products increased by 2.88%. The consumer price index of fruits decreased by 2.36%, and the consumer price index of fungi increased by 1.01%.

Jiang Bing, an analyst at Xinhua (Daqing) International Petroleum Information Center, believes that from the data results, the green food consumer price index has declined steadily from the previous month, mainly due to the adequate supply of vegetable food and the decline in consumer prices. Vegetable prices constitute an important part of China's green food consumer price index system. With the drop in temperature in the future, a large number of local vegetables in the northern region are delisted, increasing the demand for non-local vegetables, and the rising cost will boost the future green food consumer price index to a certain extent.

China Green Food Consumer Price Index is compiled and developed by Xinhua (Daqing) International Petroleum Information Center. Green food is divided into six categories: grain and oil, vegetables, meat, poultry and eggs, aquatic products, fruits and fungi. By collecting the price data of Xinhua News Agency's own database, authoritative statistical departments at all levels and China Green Food Association, a comprehensive index is formed by using statistical model weighting. The purpose of this paper is to reflect the changing direction, trend and degree of green food consumer prices, describe the general picture and operation status of green food consumption changes, and provide a reference evaluation standard for procurement, production, sales and investment of enterprises in the industry. This index is published once a week.
