National tobacco germplasm resources sub-platform listed
A few days ago, the National crop Germplasm Resources platform Tobacco Germplasm Resources Sub-platform was officially launched in the Tobacco Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences. The platform collects, introduces and preserves 1225 tobacco germplasm resources at home and abroad, which makes the number of tobacco germplasm resources in China reach 5267, and further establishes its leading position in the world. The national tobacco germplasm resources sub-platform is an important part of the national science and technology basic condition platform, and the national science and technology basic condition platform is an important part of the national innovation system. It is the basic support system that serves the scientific and technological progress and innovation of the whole society. The establishment and improvement of the scientific and technological basic conditions platform is conducive to promoting the efficient allocation and comprehensive utilization of scientific and technological resources in the whole society, and is also an important key to the construction of scientific and technological innovation system.
Relying on the National Tobacco interim Bank and the China Tobacco Germplasm Resources platform, the platform started construction in 2003 and was basically completed in 2013. At present, a scientific research system has been constructed, which is composed of four systems: collection and preservation, identification and evaluation, germplasm innovation and resource sharing. it has become a national basic, public welfare and strategic platform for resource research, resource sharing, personnel training and international exchanges. During the construction of the platform, it was supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Agriculture and the State Tobacco Monopoly Bureau.
According to reports, the platform has established a technical system for reproduction and renewal of tobacco germplasm resources. A total of 4767 tobacco germplasm were propagated and renewed, and a number of endangered and rare tobacco germplasm were saved. The updating database of tobacco resource reproduction was established. 4480 images were collected, including plant type, leaf shape, flower, inflorescence and capsule, which supplemented and improved the image database and provided a solid material foundation and technical guarantee for distribution and utilization.
