Han Changfu said that at present, the comprehensive mechanization rate of cultivation and harvest of the three major grain crops in China has all exceeded 75%, and the whole process of wheat production has basically been mechanized. The level of mechanical planting and harvesting of rice has increased from 6% and 27% ten years ago to 38% and 81% now, respectively, and the harvest level of corn machine has increased from 2% to 55%.

In addition, agricultural machinery equipment has also achieved the characteristics of total growth and structural optimization. According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture, the total power of agricultural machinery in China is expected to reach 1.05 billion kilowatts in 2014, an increase of 410 million kilowatts or 64 percent over 2004, and the equipment structure will accelerate to the direction of high horsepower, multi-function and high performance. the number of large and medium-sized tractors, combine harvesters and rice transplanters is 5,3.7 and 9.8 times that of a decade ago, respectively.

The development of agricultural mechanization has also led to the revitalization and development of China's agricultural machinery industry. At present, the total output value of China's agricultural machinery industry has maintained double-digit growth for ten consecutive years, from 85.4 billion in 2004 to 357.1 billion yuan in 2013, ranking first in the world. At present, China's agricultural machinery industry cluster has initially taken shape, the scientific and technological content, product quality and after-sales service level have been continuously improved, and the main agricultural machinery products have been able to meet more than 90% of the needs of the domestic market.

The Ministry of Agriculture predicts that by 2020, the level of mechanization of crop cultivation and harvest in China is expected to increase to 70 percent, the main links of grain production will be basically mechanized, and the level of field mechanization of major cash crops such as grain, oil and sugar will also be greatly improved.
